What this end cap isThis is a closed finishing end cap designed for
top-view neon flex — the silicone
LED neon flex profiles that emit light through the upper face of the extrusion rather than the side. It carries no cable hole, which makes it the terminating piece: it goes on the dead end of the run, the opposite side from the power-feed connection. One cap covers one end, so count your runs before you order. Because silicone neon is produced in several sizes and shapes, matching the cap profile to your flex profile is not optional; a cap made for another profile will not sit flush, will not seal, and will eventually let the run down.
Why sealing the end mattersAn open end leaves the internal LED board exposed to dust, debris and humidity — the three things that shorten the life of a
flexible LED neon rope light. A properly sealed cap supports the wet-location or damp-location rating of the flex it is paired with and helps preserve consistent light output over the years. It also blocks light leakage from the cut face, so the glow stays even from the first millimetre to the last instead of ending in a hot spot. On signage and cove work, where the eye follows the line of light, that even termination is the difference between a professional install and an obviously homemade one.
Installation, step by stepCut the
neon flex only at the marked cut points — cutting anywhere else severs the circuit and ruins the segment. Wipe the freshly cut end clean and make sure it is completely dry. Apply a bead of compatible silicone adhesive or sealant inside the cap, then press the cap firmly onto the flex so the adhesive spreads across the full face. Let the adhesive cure fully before powering the run up or exposing it to moisture; rushing this step is the most common reason a "sealed" end later fogs or fails. Keep the power-feed side of the run at the accessible end so future service means unplugging rather than dismantling.
Where it gets usedCove and ceiling details in living rooms and hotel lobbies, under-cabinet and toe-kick runs in kitchens, channel letters and storefront
LED neon signs, handrails and stair nosings, retail displays, gym and garage accent lines, and architectural outlines on facades. Contractors finishing a basement bar, a sign shop building custom lettering, or a homeowner running neon around a home theatre all end up needing the same thing: a clean terminated edge that matches the profile in hand.
Compatible accessoriesBuild your run with the matching family: the
flex neon endcap side view without hole for side-emitting profiles, the
flex neon endcap 3x6 without hole and
flex neon endcap 6x6 without hole for those squared profiles, plus the drilled versions such as the
flex neon endcap 6x6 with hole when the cable has to pass through at the feed end. SKU LCENDCAP-FLX-TV-NH ships as the cap only — silicone adhesive or sealant is supplied separately. No spec sheet or IES file is published for this accessory; select it by measuring your existing top-view profile.
