What this end cap actually doesAn
aluminum LED profile is an extrusion: once you cut it to length, both extremities are open and you can see straight into the cavity — the tape, the wiring, the diffuser channel walls. The finishing end cap seals that opening. It conceals the raw edge of the extrusion and the end of the LED tape, protects the strip from dust and accidental contact, and keeps the diffuser from sliding out of its track. Visually, it is what makes a cut length read as a real fixture instead of a piece of stock material. This is the
solid (no hole) version, used wherever the run simply stops and no wire needs to exit.
Profile-specific fitThe most important thing to understand about
LED channel end caps is that they are not universal. Several profile styles exist across a lighting system — surface-mount, recessed, corner, deep, wide — and each one has its own cross-section. The cap must be moulded to that exact cross-section to sit flush. This is the
#49 shape in white, so it goes on the #49 channel and nowhere else. Before ordering, check the profile number printed on your extrusion or compare the outline of the cap to the open end of your channel: the silhouette should match perfectly, with no overhang and no gap.

Installation, step by stepWork in the right order and the job takes seconds. Cut and mount the channel first, insert the
LED tape and the diffuser, then press the cap into place over the extremity. A light friction fit is usually enough for cabinets, shelving and vertical surfaces. For ceiling runs, cove lighting or high-traffic areas where a cap could be bumped or vibrate loose, a small dab of adhesive on the inner lip keeps it secure over time. One rule to never break: always leave the
feed end accessible so the driver connection can be inspected or serviced later — use a cap with a wire opening there, and keep this solid cap for the closed extremity. Wipe the channel end before pressing the cap in; sawdust and aluminum shavings are what cause a cap to sit proud.
Where it gets used, and related accessoriesKitchens (under-cabinet and toe-kick), bathrooms and vanity mirrors, stairwells, hallways, closets, basements, retail displays and shelving, reception desks, display cases and workshop benches — anywhere an aluminum channel is cut to a custom length, a cap follows. If your project uses a different profile, the same family covers other shapes: see the
finishing end cap #11 (no hole) and the
finishing end cap #11 (with hole) for #11 extrusions. For flexible
neon-style LED runs rather than aluminum channel, the matching pieces are the
flex neon end cap 3x6 (without hole) and the
flex neon end cap 6x6 (with hole). No spec sheet is published for this accessory — selection is done by matching the profile shape, so compare the cap outline with your channel before ordering, and buy one unit per open extremity.
