How RGB modules workEach module is a small sealed unit holding 3
SMD5050 LEDs, and each 5050 chip combines red, green and blue. On their own, the modules do not change colour: an
RGB controller sends the signal that mixes the three channels, producing an almost infinite number of colours, from deep blue to warm amber and everything in between. The set includes 50 modules that you link in a row to follow the shape and size of your sign cabinet or letters, for a uniform glow from one end to the other.
Electrical and light outputThe modules run on
12V DC in constant voltage mode, with a working current of 60 mA and a consumption of 0.72W per module; the recommended wattage is 0.9W per module. Up to 50 modules can be linked in a row on the recommended 12V 60W power supply. Each module delivers 6,600 mcd with a wide 160° beam angle that helps spread light across translucent faces. Always use a 12V DC constant voltage power supply, and turn off the power before connecting or modifying a run of modules.
Installation and protectionEach module measures 71.6 x 17.5 x 9.5mm and comes with a self-adhesive backing and a mounting ring for optional screw installation, with #4 screws preferred. Clean and dry the mounting surface before sticking the modules, and add screws in sign cabinets exposed to vibration or temperature swings. The modules are
IP68 rated and
cURus certified; for outdoor signs, they must be sheltered inside a light box or channel letters, since they are not meant to be exposed to the elements. Refer to the technical sheet for the proper usage guidelines.

Applications and documentationThink of a pizzeria's lightbox sign that turns red and green for the holidays,
channel letters for a Montréal boutique, a backlit logo in a dental clinic lobby, a bar front behind translucent panels, a trade show booth or a menu board in a Calgary café. With the
E3-RF 3-in-1 RF LED controller, one remote can change the whole look. The technical sheet is available in the
