Built as the backbone of your lighting planThe ASTELLA Track System is a surface-mounted rail that carries power along its full length and lets compatible lampholders tap into it anywhere. This 12 ft section is the
H-type, single-circuit format: the open side of the track faces the room, the plain underside sits flat against the ceiling or wall, and polarity lines printed on the rail and on each adapter tell you instantly which way a head goes in. To attach a lampholder, align the polarity line on the rail with the one on the holder, push the top of the mounting adapter with its contact tabs into the slot, and turn 90°. If it does not turn easily, do not force it — turn the other way. To remove a head, press the release lever with your index finger and turn 90°. That is the whole operation, no tools, no ladder gymnastics.
Electrical and installation detailsThe track runs on
120V, 60Hz, 20A, is Class I and carries an
IP20 rating, so it belongs in dry indoor spaces. It is a 1-way circuit with phase, neutral and protective earth (P + N + PE). Always shut off the main breaker at the panel before installing track or accessories. Place the rail over the outlet box, mark the mounting holes on the ceiling or wall, then drill: in drywall or plaster, 5/8 holes with the supplied toggle bolts; in solid wood, standard #10 wood screws (not supplied). For the wiring connections, cut and strip the box wires to 3/8 and secure them to the screw terminals inside the live feed or end connector — no need to wrap the wire around the screw. Local installation requirements must be respected, so a licensed electrician is the right call for the feed.
Connectors, polarity and safetyBefore sliding any connector into an open end, loosen its set screws. Select the correct grounding tab: to maintain circuit polarity, the ground tabs on the connectors must be prepared before sliding onto the NON-GROUND conductor-side tab of the track section you are joining. If the wrong tab has been removed, do not use that connector, because grounding will no longer be maintained. Once all rails and connectors are properly installed, slide a dead-end cap into EVERY open end of the track and tighten the set screws before energizing — this is the step that keeps fingers and debris out of a live channel. To reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, use only fixture assemblies marked for use with TUROLIGHT track.

Applications, compatibility and documentationTwelve feet gives you room to build a real layout: five or six adjustable heads washing a gallery wall, a line of
linear pendants over a restaurant bar or a kitchen island, accent heads over retail gondolas, or a long run down the middle of a basement workshop. Because the whole run sits on one feed, a single switch or dimmer circuit controls the group while each head stays independently aimable. The dedicated connector range lets you turn corners and extend the layout — live end feed, end cap, X, L, T and straight joiners, plus the mounting accessories listed above — and you can splice in shorter sections such as the
AST track 4 ft H type black or the
AST track 6 ft H type black to hit an exact dimension. White ceilings are better served by the matching
AST track 8 ft H type white or the 12 ft white version. The installation instructions for the AST-TRK series, with the connector diagrams and mounting steps described above, are in the Documentation tab as a technical PDF — worth printing before you go up the ladder.
