Built to last, built to fit
The 5W SMD LED bulb is built around an aluminum casing that pulls heat away from the diodes — the single biggest factor in how long an LED lamp really lasts. Inside, the light comes from Epistar LED chips, a well-known SMD chip source, rated for a 35,000-hour lifetime. The compact format was designed to behave like the halogen it replaces, so it fits most standard open retrofit fixtures and track lights without the awkward overhang or the bulb that will not seat properly. Refer to the technical drawings in the spec sheet for the exact dimensions of each socket version before you order.
Light quality and dimming
Two colour temperatures are offered: Warm White 3000K at 280 lumens, the closest feel to the incandescent and halogen light most people grew up with, and Cool White 6000K at 330 lumens, a bright daylight-leaning white that keeps work areas and retail displays looking sharp. The 120° beam angle is the detail that surprises people the most: instead of a narrow cone, you get wide, flood-like coverage, which means fewer dark gaps between fixtures and softer shadows on a countertop or a display shelf. Dimming runs from 10% to 100%, so the same bulb handles supper prep and a quiet evening.

Electrical and installation notes
Start by identifying your socket. GU10 has two thick pins you push in and twist a quarter-turn, and runs on line voltage 110-120V. E27 is the medium screw base, also 110-120V, common in pendants, table lamps and some ceiling fixtures. MR16 has two thin pins and runs on 12V, which means it needs a low-voltage transformer or driver upstream — never wire an MR16 lamp directly to line voltage. For dimming, put the bulbs on a dimmer rated for LED loads and keep in mind that a single 5W lamp is a very small load; grouping several bulbs on the same dimmer usually gives the smoothest result. Because these lamps are rated for indoor, dry locations, keep them out of unprotected outdoor fixtures, open soffits and shower enclosures.
Where they work best, and what to read
Think kitchen pot lights over an island, a hallway line of recessed spots, track heads aimed at artwork in a living room, bedside pendants with E27 sockets, or 12V MR16 heads in a display case or a millwork valance. On the commercial side, they suit boutiques, cafés, hair salons, waiting rooms and small offices where the fixtures are already installed and only the lamps need to be modernized. Mixing 3000K in lounge areas with 6000K over work surfaces is a simple trick that makes a space feel designed rather than just lit. Full details, including the technical drawings for each socket version, are in the technical PDF available in the Documentation tab of this page — worth a look before you choose between GU10, MR16 and E27.
