Built for the outdoors, not just splash-proof
The body of this slim LED flood light is die-formed aluminum paired with a reinforced glass lens, a combination chosen for one reason: heat management and impact resistance. Aluminum pulls heat away from the LED board so the diodes stay cool and hold their output over the long haul, while the reinforced glass front takes hail, wind-blown debris and the occasional hockey puck better than a plastic lens. The black housing keeps the fixture visually quiet against brick, siding or a soffit, and the included installation bracket lets you aim the beam up a wall, down a driveway or across a yard and lock it in place.
Light quality you can actually work under
The engine is a set of PHILIPS 3030 SMD chips with an efficiency rating of more than 120 LM/W — that's the difference between a flood that just looks bright from the front and one that genuinely covers ground. This 50 W model delivers a Cool White tone, a daylight-style white that renders colours crisply and reads as "safe and visible" on security cameras and in parking areas. The 120° lighting angle spreads that output wide instead of punching a single hot circle on the pavement, which means fewer fixtures to cover the same surface.

Electrical and installation notes
Because the fixture runs directly on 120VAC line voltage, there's no low-voltage driver or transformer to source — it wires like a standard exterior fixture on a dedicated or shared 120 V circuit, which is why it's so quick to retrofit in place of an old halogen flood. Mount it on the wall bracket, connect through a weatherproof junction box or exterior outlet box, and angle the head before tightening the bracket bolts. Keep the lens face angled slightly downward so water sheds off rather than pooling on the glass, and leave the fixture clear of insulation or tight enclosures so the aluminum housing can breathe. For automatic operation, the circuit can feed a wall switch, a timer or a photocell; for construction and event use, the IP65 rating and compact footprint make it easy to clamp onto a stand or temporary pole. Always have line-voltage work completed according to the Canadian Electrical Code and your local requirements.
Where it pays off, and what's in the Documentation tab
Residential: garage and carport walls, back decks, side entrances, fence lines, above a basketball hoop, over a woodpile or a boat trailer. Commercial and industrial: small parking lots, delivery doors, loading zones, equipment and material yards, farm buildings, warehouse aisles and mechanical rooms where the IP65 rating handles dust and washdown spray. Because the same fixture is rated for indoor use, it's equally at home lighting an unfinished garage shop or a storage mezzanine.
