What it is and how it worksThe Pico wireless control is a flexible, battery-operated device that lets you control compatible wireless load-control devices from anywhere in the space — no external power and no communication wiring. That single sentence is what makes it so popular in retrofits: instead of running a traveller wire for a three-way, you mount a remote where you wish the switch had been. It communicates using
radio frequency (RF) at 431 MHz to 437 MHz, and thousands of system addresses prevent interference between neighbouring systems, so your neighbour's remote never touches your lights.
Buttons and operationConfigurations include 2 Button Controls (2B) and 2 Button Controls with Raise/Lower (2BRL). On a lights model, the ON button brightens lights to full intensity, RAISE increases intensity, LOWER decreases intensity and OFF dims the lights off — intuitive enough that nobody needs a manual. Button marking options are also offered for appliances, screens and shades, and the control can be assigned to blinds, curtains or lighting devices within its range. In GRAFIK Eye QS wireless applications it can even be configured as a
scene or zone control.

Compatibility and mountingBeyond Caséta Wireless controls, the Pico wireless control provides control for Maestro Wireless controls, PowPak modules, RadioRA 2 systems, GRAFIK Eye QS wireless systems, HomeWorks QS wireless systems, Sivoia QS wireless systems, Serena RF remote control shades, and Energi Savr Node, Quantum and myRoom systems through a QS sensor module (QSM). It reconfigures easily as a handheld remote, a wall-mount control with or without faceplate (faceplate adapter kit sold separately), a car visor control (clip sold separately) or a table top control (pedestal sold separately). One important installation note: all RF devices should be mounted on
nonmetallic surfaces for proper performance — if you must mount to metal, the PICO-MOUNT-1-XX-CPN6774 is required. Pair the remote with its dimmer first, then test from the far corner of the room.
Where it pays off, and the paperworkThink open-concept living rooms where the only switch is by the front door, a two-storey stairwell, a primary bedroom, a basement rec room, or a clinic waiting area where reception needs to drop the light level without walking across the floor. Contractors use it to deliver a
three-way or four-way feel in a finished home in minutes. Build the system around the
Caséta LED dimmer 150W, the
Caséta 6A 3-way wireless switch, or start with the
Caséta starter kit; for a wired-only room, a classic
Diva LED dimmer 150W remains a solid choice. The full
