Built around a Decora slideThis control pairs a familiar Decora rocker with a slender, integrated slide bar. The rocker gives you preset ON/OFF switching that remembers the brightness you last chose, while the linear slide handles fine adjustment across the full range. The housing is slim and compact so it fits easily into a standard wallbox, and because there are no fins to break off for
multi-gang installation, it lines up neatly beside other Decora devices in two, three and four-gang plates. Faceplates snap off and on for a simple colour change — the device is packaged in White with Ivory and Light Almond faceplates, and additional faceplate colours are available, which keeps inventory simple for contractors.
Dimming performance and flicker controlDesigned for optimal control of
dimmable LED bulbs, this dimmer delivers a wider dimming range with LED lamps than conventional incandescent dimmers. You can customize the dimming range using the minimum/maximum light level adjustment switch to help eliminate flicker, maximize energy savings and dial in the ambiance you want. The Mode Switch is pre-set at the factory to Mode A; for applications where bulbs do not turn on smoothly or show inconsistent performance at start-up, set it to Mode B. The same Mode Switch is used to enter program mode for setting the minimum or maximum dimming level. LED and CFL bulbs must be marked or rated as
dimmable to be used with this control.

Wiring and installationNo neutral is required at the box, which makes this a friendly retrofit in older Canadian homes. Always shut off power at the panel before removing the existing switch and confirm whether the circuit is
single pole or 3-way before you begin; in a 3-way application, this dimmer pairs with a standard 3-way switch at the second location. Note that sharing a neutral wire may cause flickering — connect all devices to the same phase, or run a separate neutral to each phase. A built-in radio/TV interference filter helps keep the circuit quiet. Respect the multi-gang derating chart when several controls share a plate, don't overcrowd the box, and test the full slide range once power is restored. When in doubt, have a licensed electrician complete the connection.
Where it works and what to pair it withUse it over a bank of dimmable
LED pot lights in a kitchen or open-plan basement, over dining room pendants, in a home theatre, a bedroom, or in commercial spaces like restaurants, salons, clinics and boutique retail where a 450W LED capacity covers a lot of fixtures on one circuit. If a project calls for wireless control, a remote or a smart-home tie-in instead, look at the
Lutron Caseta starter kit, the
Lutron Pico remote for Caseta wireless dimmers, or the
Lutron Skylark LED dimmer 150W for a smaller load. The full technical PDF (LCDIM-LEV120V-450W Spec Sheet) is in the Documentation tab with dimensional drawings, the specifications at-a-glance table and the multi-gang derating chart.
