Built around a paddle and a sliderThe Diva LED+ keeps the control simple: a large paddle switch turns the lights on to your selected level and off again, while a captive linear-slide dimmer sets that level. Because the slider is captive, it stays put and never falls out of alignment, and the whole assembly is sized for a standard designer wallplate opening — the same opening as your other decorator devices. Lutron's precise color matching means the dimmer blends with the rest of the devices on the wall, and each unit is electrostatic discharge tested and
100% factory tested before it leaves the line. The Diva LED+ was formerly sold as the C•L model, so if a drawing or an old
dimmer switch in your panel schedule calls for C•L, this is its replacement.
Light quality and load typesLED+ includes advanced dimming technology developed specifically for the behaviour of modern drivers and ballasts, which is why it handles
dimmable LED, CFL, halogen and incandescent sources from the same control. It is UL Listed to control dimmable LEDs, dimmable compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) with integrated ballast, the Lutron LTEA Hi-lume 1% forward-phase LED driver, halogen and incandescent bulbs. Only bulbs marked or rated as DIMMABLE may be used on LED or CFL circuits, and some dimmable LEDs and CFLs require a minimum number of bulbs for proper operation — check the lamp manufacturer's data before you finalize a small load. Mixing bulb technologies on one circuit is best avoided, since it can affect
low-end performance; when you must, follow the multigang and mixed bulb type ratings in the spec sheet.

Installation and set-upThe unit mounts in a standard single-gang wallbox at least 2 in (64 mm) deep and finishes with a designer-opening wallplate; coordinating Claro and Stainless Steel wallplates are available separately. Kill the breaker before you touch a conductor, leave a little slack in the wires so heat can escape behind the device, and keep the connected load within the printed rating. For
3-way and 4-way switching, use Claro switches or other mechanical switches at the companion locations — a common set-up for stairwells, long hallways and rooms with two doors. Once powered, take one minute to set the
low-end adjustment: run the slider to the bottom, trim until the lamps light reliably every time, and you have flicker-free starts for good. Power-failure memory restores your level after an outage, and the mechanical air-gap switch lets you disconnect load power for lamp changes.
Where it works and what's in the box of documentsThis
wall dimmer is a natural fit over dimmable recessed pot lights in a kitchen or basement, over a dining room chandelier, in a bedroom on bedside-level lighting, in a boutique fitting room or a restaurant dining area where the level changes from lunch to dinner. Contractors use it as the standard-issue dimmer on renovation jobs because it covers LED, halogen and incandescent loads without switching product lines mid-project. Complementary choices in the catalogue include the
Diva LED dimmer in black for dark device schemes, the
Skylark LED dimmer for a slide-style control, and the
Caseta starter kit if another room needs app and remote control. The full technical PDF (LCDIM-LUDIV-120V Spec Sheet) is in the Documentation tab, with the dimensions, ratings tables and the complete list of colour and finish codes.
