LL SERIES FOR LIGHT RESIDENTIAL APPLICATIONS - TK6008-SL

SKU: TK6008-SL

Brand: LITELINE

Give your ceiling the flexibility it deserves. The LL Series track rail in silver, model TK6008-SL by LITELINE, is the 8-foot backbone of a classic track lighting system — the long aluminum channel that carries power and lets you clip, slide and aim your track heads exactly where the light is needed. People call it a track rail, a lighting track, a track section or simply a track bar, and it does the same job in every room: one power feed, many points of light. Hang it over a kitchen island, run it along a hallway of framed prints, light a retail wall or a basement workshop bench, then move the fixtures whenever the furniture, the art or the merchandise moves. Because this is a section of the LL Series system, you can join several lengths end to end with connectors to shape an L, a T, an X or a gentle angle across an open-concept ceiling.

This is a serious extrusion, not a flimsy strip. The body is die cast aluminum at 1/32", with 3/64" PVC insulators holding 12 gauge flat conductor wiring, and a polarity groove on the face of the track so you always know where the grounding conductor sits. The copper electrical conductors are concealed inside an insulating thermoplastic, low profile cross-section, giving you a clean 3/4" (21 mm) by 1 3/8" (35 mm) silhouette that reads as architectural rather than industrial. System electrical rating is 20A, 120V, 60Hz, single circuit, with hot and neutral conductors rated for 20 amps per branch circuit — plenty of headroom for a full row of heads. The TK6008 length measures 96" (2438 mm), and the SL suffix gives you the silver finish that disappears against most modern ceilings.

Single-circuit 120V track is a Canadian renovation favourite: condo kitchens, older homes with one ceiling box and no room for recessed cans, art studios, salons, boutiques, cafés and small offices. Because it mounts to the ceiling and feeds several fixtures from one junction box, it is often the fastest way to fix a dark room without opening the drywall. Prefer another colour? The same 8-foot section is offered as LL Series track TK6008-BK in black, LL Series track TK6008-WH in white and LL Series track TK6008-BN in brushed nickel. Plan your run, add your feeds and connectors, and start aiming light where it actually matters.

Built from a solid extrusion
The LL Series track is extruded aluminum with flat, solid integral conductors rated at 20 amps. Construction is 1/32" die cast aluminum, with 3/64" PVC insulators that hold the 12 gauge flat conductor wiring firmly in place, and a polarity groove machined on the face of the track to indicate the location of the grounding conductor — a small detail that makes installing heads and connectors far less guesswork. The copper electrical conductors stay concealed in an insulating thermoplastic, low profile track cross-section, so nothing is exposed along the run. The silver finish of this SL version keeps the channel visually quiet on white, grey or wood ceilings.

Electrical and installation details
This is a single circuit track for 120V applications: one hot and one neutral conductor, each rated for 20 Amps per branch circuit, with a system electrical rating of 20A, 120V, 60Hz. Track lighting is a single circuit electrical distribution system designed to supply power to lighting units in flexible ways, which is exactly why it suits renovations — a single junction box can feed an entire row of fixtures. Power can be brought in several ways depending on your ceiling: a live-end (LE6110) for power from the end of the track with no canopy, a live-end with canopy (LE6111) fed from a junction box, a wired-end (WE6110) fed from a receptacle, a center feed (CF6108) that powers the track anywhere along its length and includes a canopy cover, or a live-end conduit feed (CA6106) with a 7/8" knockout for top or end feed. Finish the open side with an end cap (TK6000-END). Always have the connection made by a qualified electrician, following your provincial electrical code.

Shaping and suspending the run
Track sections can be joined together using any of the compatible track connectors, so one straight 8-foot section is only the starting point. Use the I-connector (IC6101) to join two sections at 180° for a longer straight run, the L-connector (LC6102) for two sections at 90°, the T-connector (TC6103) for three sections at 90°, the X-connector (XC6104) for four sections at 90°, or the flexible connector (FC6105) when two sections meet at varying angles — handy in a room where the ceiling geometry is not square. For high or sloped ceilings, the TDR62 hollow stem rod kit suspends the track and includes a ceiling canopy, mounting brackets and hardware, while RODR62 suspends the track from the ceiling and RODF62 is the hollow stem rod for track fixtures. Note that accessories are sold separately.

Where it works and what to download
Picture a straight run over a long kitchen island with heads aimed at the counter, a gallery wall in a hallway where each frame gets its own beam, a retail shop lighting seasonal displays that change monthly, a hair salon lighting each station, or a home office that needs task light without a renovation. Other lengths in the same family cover shorter walls and longer commercial runs, and the identical section is available in LL Series track TK6008-BK, LL Series track TK6008-WH and LL Series track TK6008-BN if your trim, hardware or ceiling colour calls for a different look. The technical PDF spec sheet for TK6008-SL is in the Documentation tab, with the dimensional drawings, the ordering guide and the full accessory list to help you plan the layout before you drill.
