Built from extruded aluminumThe TK60 series rail is an extruded aluminum track with flat, solid integral conductors. The body is 1⁄32" die cast aluminum construction with 3⁄64" PVC insulators that hold 12 gauge flat conductor wiring securely in place. A polarity groove runs along the face of the track to indicate the location of the grounding conductor, so orientation is obvious during installation and every section of a long run stays consistent. The copper electrical conductors are concealed inside an insulating thermoplastic low-profile cross-section — a detail that keeps the rail slim and visually quiet on the ceiling while protecting the wiring.
Electrical and installation detailsThis is a single-circuit track: one hot and one neutral conductor, rated for 20 Amps per branch circuit, with a system electrical rating of 20A, 120V, 60Hz. Track lighting is a single circuit electrical distribution system designed to supply power to lighting units in flexible ways, so you can add, move or re-aim heads without touching the ceiling again. Power can be brought in several ways depending on your junction box location: a live-end (LE6110) at the end of the run, a live-end with canopy (LE6111), a center feed with canopy cover (CF6108) that provides power anywhere along the track, a live-end conduit feed (CA6106) with a 7⁄8" knockout for top or end feed, or a wired-end (WE6110) that draws power from a receptacle. Finish the open end with a TK6000-END end cap.

Shape the run you needTrack sections can be joined together using any of the compatible track connectors, so a single 8-foot rail is only the starting point. Use an I-connector (IC6101) to join two sections at 180° for a longer straight line, an L-connector (LC6102) to turn a corner at 90°, a T-connector (TC6103) to feed three sections, an X-connector (XC6104) for a four-way layout, or a flexible connector (FC6105) when two sections meet at an unusual angle — handy in older Canadian homes where walls are rarely square. For high or sloped ceilings, suspend the rail with the TDR62 hollow stem rod kit, which includes ceiling canopy, mounting brackets and hardware, or use RODR62 to suspend track from the ceiling and RODF62 for track fixtures. All LITELINE track accessories and connectors are compatible with this system, and accessories are sold separately.
Where it works and what's included in the docsThink of a long galley kitchen where one run lights counter, sink and island; a hallway or stairwell landing that needs several aimed beams; a home office or studio where the desk moves twice a year; a retail boutique washing a merchandise wall; a café highlighting art and tables. Because heads clip in anywhere along the rail, you fine-tune the layout after the drywall is done — a real advantage for renovations and rentals. The same 8-foot rail is offered in other finishes if your project calls for them:
TK6008-BN brushed nickel track,
TK6008-SL silver track and
TK6008-WH white track. The full technical PDF (TK6008-BK Spec Sheet) with dimensions, technical drawings, the ordering guide and the accessory list is available in the Documentation tab.
