The scoop trim advantage
The LED PUCK LIGHT #2000 SCOOP is part of the #2000 family of mini recessed pucks. Its scoop trim works like a small eyelid: it shields the LED from direct view and directs the light downward, which is why this style is so popular for step lights and low wall lights. The black finish blends into dark risers, black window frames, charcoal siding and stone, keeping the fixture discreet by day while its light draws a neat pool on the surface below at night.
Neutral white light, minimal consumption
The PK2000 spec sheet lists 125 lumens for just 1 watt, comparable to a 20-watt incandescent, which is ideal for guidance and accent lighting. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white that looks clean on concrete, stone, composite decking and modern façades, and keeps stair edges easy to read. A CRI above 80 maintains natural colours, and dimming lets you balance the light level with the rest of your outdoor or indoor lighting.
Installation, voltage and protection
This is a low-voltage DC fixture: the spec sheet lists 12/24 V DC, so it is powered by an appropriate LED driver, never directly by household line voltage. Use a dimmable driver and a compatible dimmer if you want dimming. It needs a 35 mm cutout (1.378 inches), easy to drill in a riser, a wall, a deck fascia or a post. The PK2000 carries an IP67 protection rating, dust-tight and protected against water, which suits entrances, decks, steps and bathrooms. Orient the scoop so the light falls where you want it, plan the driver location before drilling, follow local electrical code, and have a qualified electrician complete the line-voltage connections.

Where it shines
Place one in every other riser on a deck staircase, line a garden wall to mark a path, light the landing of a basement stair, or install a row along a hallway as gentle night lighting. In commercial projects, scoop lights guide guests through hotel corridors, restaurant patios, theatre aisles and condo entrances without glare.
