A complete kit, not just a roll of tape
This LED MONTREAL kit was built so a first-time DIYer gets a professional result. In the box you get the RGB LED strip at 30 LED per meter, the 24V transformer and the RF remote control with its receiver. The strip itself uses 5050 RGB SMD chips — the three-in-one red, green and blue package that lets you mix millions of shades — mounted on a flexible circuit only 10 mm wide, with a high-quality self-adhesive backing that grips clean, dry surfaces such as drywall, wood, melamine, plaster coves and aluminum profiles. It is offered in IP20, meaning no silicone coating, which keeps the ribbon slim, flexible and easy to tuck into tight reveals.
Light quality and control
The 120-degree lighting angle spreads colour evenly instead of leaving hard dots on your ceiling, which is exactly what you want in a cove or behind a headboard. Colour selection and brightness are handled by the RF remote: the strip is dimmable through the remote, and because RF does not need line of sight, you can change the mood from bed, from the couch, or even with the controller hidden behind furniture. When your kit exceeds 10 m, you receive two transformers and two controllers featuring wireless synchronization; simply program both controllers on the same zone and they sync automatically, giving you perfectly matched colour changes across the whole room.

Installation and electrical notes
Plan your run first: measure the perimeter, then trim the 24V LED strip only on the marked cut lines, every 5 LEDs (16.5 cm). Clean and dry the surface before pressing the adhesive down firmly along its whole length — a few seconds of pressure makes the difference between a strip that stays up for years and one that sags at the corners. Keep the low-voltage side tidy: the transformer must sit where it can breathe, ideally inside a closet, above a valance or in a service space, and the strip should be fed from the end nearest the power supply. Heat dissipation is not necessary for a typical bedroom install, but in a commercial environment an aluminum channel is the smart move for both cooling and a cleaner finished look. Since it is IP20, install in dry indoor locations only.
Applications and documentation
Homeowners use this kit for ceiling cove lighting in a master bedroom, accent glow behind a TV or gaming setup, under-shelf colour in a teen's room, basement stair washes and home theatre trim. Contractors and small business owners run it along reception desks, bar fronts, retail display walls, salon mirrors and restaurant booths where a colour change sets the tone for the evening. Because the kit is cULus certified, it satisfies the certification requirement for lighting in Québec, which matters on both residential and commercial projects. The full technical spec sheet for the ROOMKIT20 kit is available in the Documentation tab — check it before you order so you choose the right total length, from 5 to 20 m.
