What this endcap is forAn aluminum LED profile leaves two open ends when it is cut to length, and those ends are the weak point of the whole installation: exposed aluminum edges, a diffuser that can creep out of its track, and an entry point for dust. This
finishing end cap closes one of them. Because it is the version
with a hole, it is the cap you install at the supply side of the run — the wire, the driver lead or the low-voltage connector passes through the opening and the channel still closes cleanly around it. The opposite end of the same run normally takes a solid cap with no hole, so a typical single run uses one of each. This unit is sold individually, which lets you order exactly the count your project needs rather than guessing with kits.
Fit, finish and constructionThe cap is profiled to match the silhouette of the
standard #87 channel, so it sits flush against the cut end and follows the same outline as the extrusion and its lens. The result is a continuous line, not a visibly chopped piece of aluminum. The
black finish is the right choice when the profile, the lens frame or the surrounding millwork is dark, and it stays discreet on ceilings, under shelves and along stair treads where the end of the run is at eye level. Once seated, it also acts as a stop for the
diffuser, keeping the lens from shifting along the track over time.

Installation tipsDry-fit both caps before you apply any adhesive or tighten your
mounting clips — it is much easier to adjust the channel position while everything is still loose. Pass the wire through the opening first, leave a little slack inside the channel so nothing pulls on the solder joints or the connector, then seat the cap so the
lens ends flush with it. Cut the profile square for the tightest joint, deburr the aluminum edge, and plan your feed side before you mount the channel so the hole ends up where the power actually comes from. Endcaps work alongside mounting clips, diffuser lenses and connectors as part of a complete
linear LED lighting assembly.
Applications, compatibility and documentationYou will find this cap on residential millwork — kitchen uppers, islands, floating vanities, walk-in closets, cove ceilings and staircases — as well as on light-commercial fit-outs such as reception desks, display shelving, retail gondolas and corridor coves. Several profile sizes and matching cap styles exist, so confirm your channel family before ordering: for a different extrusion, see the
Finishing end cap #11 with hole and the
Finishing end cap #11 no hole. If your project uses flexible neon rope instead of rigid aluminum profile, the equivalent parts are the
Flex neon endcap 3x6 with hole and the
Flex neon endcap 6x6 without hole. No spec sheet is published for this accessory; the dimensions come straight from the #87 standard profile it is designed for, so match it to your channel and you are set.
