A channel built for seamless light
The CONTBAR-SURFACE is an extruded aluminum profile engineered around one idea: no visible dots. Instead of the wide, shallow shape of a basic channel, this LED aluminum channel uses a deeper cavity and a diffuser tuned for continuous output, so the light from a high-density tape blends before it leaves the fixture. The result reads as a solid bar of light rather than a string of LEDs — the look people expect from neon, delivered with modern LED efficiency. The aluminum body does double duty as a heat sink, pulling heat out of the tape, which is exactly what keeps colour consistent and output stable on long runs.

Strip compatibility and cutting
The 12.1 mm (0.48") interior width is the number to check before you buy your tape: any high-output, high-density LED strip that fits within that width will seat properly in the channel. High-density tape is strongly recommended here, since the whole point of a continuous lighting profile is to eliminate the gaps between chips. Each section is 1 m (39.37") and can be cut to length with a fine-tooth blade or a miter saw fitted for aluminum; file the edge, slide the strip in, and re-diffuse. For runs longer than a metre, butt several profiles end to end and keep the cut points of the tape aligned with the profile joints so the seam stays invisible. Always respect the cut marks printed on your LED strip and the maximum run length recommended for its voltage and wattage.
Installation and wiring
As a surface mount profile, the CONTBAR-SURFACE fastens directly to the underside of a cabinet, the face of a shelf, a cove ledge, a stair stringer or a wall — no routing, no drywall surgery. Plan your exit point before you close things up: leave room at one end for the strip leads and run them back to a low-voltage LED driver or power supply sized for the total wattage of the tape, plus a dimmer or controller if you want scene control. Keep the driver accessible in a cabinet, a vanity or a service panel, and secure the wiring so nothing pulls on the solder pads. In kitchens, mount the profile toward the front edge of the upper cabinet so the light washes the backsplash instead of bouncing straight back into your eyes.
Applications and documentation
This profile earns its keep anywhere a reflective surface would expose a dotted strip: under-cabinet lighting above quartz, granite or glass counters, kitchen islands, bar tops, glass display cases, jewellery and boutique showcases, bakery and deli counters, reception desks, museum vitrines, shelving in retail and libraries, closets, headboards, stair nosings and cove details in basements or living rooms. It suits both residential renovations and commercial fit-outs, and it plays well with the long, clean lines of modern Canadian interiors. A technical PDF for the CONTINUOUS LIGHTING ALUMINUM PROFILE 1M is available in the Documentation tab with the full dimensional data — print it, measure your cabinet, and you will know in a minute whether your run needs two, three or ten sections.
