Built rigid, built straight
The big difference between this product and a roll of flexible tape is structure. The Deluxe 1M Single Color 5050 LED Bar is built on a U-shaped aluminum profile, so it stays perfectly straight over its full 1 m length and holds its shape once mounted. That matters anywhere the light line is visible: under an upper cabinet, along the front edge of a shelf, inside a glass display case. Where flexible tape follows every imperfection of the surface and shows every wave, a rigid bar reads as a single clean stroke of light. The bar arrives fully finished with clear end caps, which keeps the ends neat without any extra parts to hunt down.
Light output and colour
Illumination comes from 72 Super Bright Epistar 5050 LEDs per bar. The 5050 chip is the workhorse of accent and task lighting — generous output with an even spread along the bar rather than isolated hot dots. This is a single colour model, meaning one consistent colour of light across the whole run, which is exactly what you want when several bars sit side by side in the same sightline. Because LED technology draws a fraction of what halogen or incandescent accent lighting used to consume — commonly up to 80% less — you can light a long counter or a full display wall without worrying about the electricity bill or the heat.

Wiring and installation
Each bar comes with a clear 15 cm DC connector on both ends, so linking is plug-and-go: connect one bar to the next and continue the line, up to 4 bars on the same circuit. Longer than that, start a new circuit fed from the supply. Since this is sold as the bar only, your project list should include a DC power supply sized for your run and any switching or dimming control you want on the line. For mounting, remember that rigid bars are not self-adhesive: the recommended method is double-sided tape applied along the full length of the bar, which spreads the hold evenly and prevents the ends from lifting over time. If you'd rather have a mechanical fix — in a garage, a workshop, or anywhere heat and humidity vary — plastic clips screwed into the surface will hold the bar securely and let you remove it later.
Where it earns its keep
Residential and commercial projects both benefit from this rigid aluminum LED bar. In homes: under-cabinet kitchen lighting, pantry and closet shelving, bathroom vanity accents, bookcase and display niche lighting, basement bars and stair coves. In business: retail shelving and gondolas, jewellery and bakery display cases, reception desks, salon stations, bar backs and restaurant shelving, plus workbench and tool-bench task light in shops and garages. Across Canadian homes with long winters and short daylight, a few bars over a counter or work surface make a noticeable difference in comfort and precision. Planning a full run? Measure your surface, divide by the 1 m bar length, group them in circuits of four, and you'll have a tidy, repeatable layout with a professional finish from end to end.
