Rigid bar vs. flexible strip
The big difference between this LED bar and a regular flexible tape is structure. The LEDs are mounted on a rigid board seated in an aluminum channel, so the bar installs dead straight every time — no waves, no dips between mounting points, no need to fight the roll memory of a flexible strip. That rigidity is exactly why cabinet makers, millworkers and display builders prefer an extruded aluminum profile solution for visible installations: the light line looks intentional and finished, even when the fixture is partly in view under a cabinet lip or inside a glass display case.
Light quality and the diffuser
With 72 Epistar 5050 LEDs packed into 1 metre, this is a high-density bar built for real brightness rather than accent-only sparkle. The 5050 chip is the workhorse of bright single colour LED lighting, and the tight LED spacing is what lets the included light diffuser do its job: it blends the individual diodes into one even line of light, giving you that soft neon effect instead of visible dots reflecting off a countertop or a glass shelf. If you want lower output for evening ambience or for a display that shouldn't overpower the merchandise, the bar is compatible with a choice of dimmers.

Wiring and installation
Each bar arrives finished with clear 15 cm DC connectors on both ends, which makes layout planning easy: feed power from whichever end is closest to your driver, and use the opposite end to continue to the next bar in the run. Clear caps and clear leads stay discreet against white cabinet interiors and glass shelving. For mounting, remember that rigid LED bars are not self-adhesive — run double-sided tape for LED strips along the full length of the bar so it bonds evenly and won't peel at the ends, or use plastic mounting clips screwed to the surface when you want a removable, serviceable install (handy inside display cases that get reconfigured, or under cabinets where you may add sections later). Always clean and degrease the surface first; sawdust and finish residue are the number one cause of tape failure in a fresh kitchen reno.
Where it works best
Think under-cabinet task lighting over a kitchen counter, a bright even wash inside a bakery, jewellery or cannabis retail display counter, under floating shelves in a living room, inside a pantry or walk-in closet, over a workbench in a garage or a basement workshop, and in trade-show or showroom displays. It suits both residential renovations and commercial fit-outs across Canada, where cold garages, damp basements and long winter evenings make reliable, efficient LED lighting a genuine daily upgrade over old halogen or fluorescent under-cabinet fixtures, using far less energy for the same punch of light.
