Built to disappear into the ceilingThe LUX747 is a recessed
aluminum profile for LED strip extruded from ALCOA 6063-T5 alloy, a grade chosen for straightness and a clean surface finish. The U shape body drops into the drywall opening while the integrated fins rest on the finished surface, covering the cut line and hiding the little imperfections that always show up around a routed slot. The result is an
extruded aluminum housing that reads as part of the architecture rather than an add-on. Aluminum also acts as a heat sink: the strip transfers its heat into the channel instead of cooking itself, which helps preserve lumen output and colour consistency over the life of the tape.

Strip compatibility, the detail that mattersBefore you order your tape, measure it. This channel takes
LED strips up to 14 mm wide, which covers most standard IP20 indoor tapes, IP65 silicone-coated tapes and certain IP67 3528 strips. Heavier IP67 tapes with a thick outer jacket are often wider than 14 mm and simply will not seat in the profile, so confirm the width on your strip's own spec sheet. Keep in mind the cutting marks on your tape as well: plan your runs so each cut point lands where you want the line of light to stop, and leave yourself access for the power feed at one end.
Installation and jobsite tipsThe profile is designed to be recessed into drywall, typically in a slot cut in a ceiling, a bulkhead, a soffit or a cove. Optional spring clips make the job quick and secure: set the clips in the opening, then push the channel home. Cut the aluminum to length with a mitre saw and a fine-tooth blade, deburr the ends, and dry-fit before painting or taping. With a 10 feet (3.05 m) length you cross a long hallway or a full kitchen island with fewer joints, which means fewer visible seams and a straighter line overall. Feed your low-voltage wiring to a driver located in an accessible spot, and always confirm the driver capacity against the total wattage of the strip you install.
Where it shines and what to read nextDesigners use this recessed channel for kitchen ceilings, staircases, hallways, home theatres, bedroom coves, bathroom soffits and walk-in closets, and contractors use it every day in reception areas, retail millwork, corridors, restaurants, clinics and offices where a seamless line of light beats visible tape.
