Built to last, built to cool
The LUX2200 is an extruded aluminum profile with a 45° triangular section, which means it does two jobs at once: it protects the strip and it acts as a heat sink. LED strips lose brightness and drift in colour when they run hot, especially on long, high-density runs, so seating the tape on an aluminum base is the single easiest way to protect your investment. The rigid body also keeps the strip perfectly straight — no sagging, no wavy line of light along a ceiling or a shelf — and shields the circuit from dust, bumps and curious fingers.

Light quality and beam direction
The whole point of a 45 degree profile is aim. Mounted in an inside corner — wall-to-ceiling, cabinet-to-backsplash, stair riser-to-tread — the strip sits on an angled face and projects the light out and down over a wider radius instead of hammering one narrow strip of surface. The result is a soft wash rather than a hot spot, and with end caps installed the run reads as one intentional line of light. Because the channel holds the tape at a consistent angle for its full 8 feet, every bar in a long installation throws light exactly the same way.
Installation and mounting
This is a surface-mount LED channel: nothing to route, nothing to recess. Fix it with the optional aluminum clips screwed to the substrate — the cleanest method on wood, drywall anchors or metal — or with heavy-duty double-sided tape when you cannot drill. Cut the bar to length with a mitre saw and a fine-tooth blade; a 45° cut at each end lets you wrap corners with a continuous look. Plan your strip layout first so the solder pads and cut lines fall where you want the feed, leave an open cap or a notch where the lead wire exits, and clean the surface before taping. Remember the options rule: caps and clips are multiplied by the number of bars ordered, so 2 closed caps with 5 bars gives you 10 closed caps.
Applications and documentation
Homeowners reach for the LUX2200 for kitchen under-cabinet lighting, island overhangs, cove lighting in a living room, walk-in closets, basement stairs and garage workbenches. Businesses use it in display cases, shelving units, reception counters, bar fronts, restaurant booths and signage. Since it is rated for interior and exterior use, it also suits soffits, pergolas, covered patios and deck railings — just pair it with a strip whose IP rating matches the exposure. Pick the wattage, voltage and colour temperature you need from the LED strip lighting you already have in mind; the profile is simply the frame that makes it look built-in.
