Built around a plant-first spectrum
Regular LED bulbs are engineered for human eyes; this one is engineered for chlorophyll. The BR30 LED grow light combines two targeted wavelengths — 450nm blue and 650nm red — chosen because they sit where plants absorb the most energy. Blue light supports germination and healthy vegetative structure, keeping seedlings from stretching and going leggy, while red light pushes photosynthesis, budding and flowering. The result is the familiar pink-purple glow of a true horticultural lamp, with usable light measured as a PPF of 8.5 µmol/s rather than a lumen figure that tells you nothing about plant growth.
Construction, heat and light distribution
The bulb uses Luminus LED components in a classic BR30 reflector shape measuring 12.9 cm long by 9.5 cm wide, so it seats properly in the fixtures you already own. Consumption is only 10W, which means very little heat is thrown at your foliage — a real advantage over old incandescent or halogen plant bulbs that had to be kept far away from leaves. The 120° beam angle spreads light across a whole tray of seedlings or a cluster of pots instead of spotlighting a single plant, and the rated 25,000-hour lifespan means seasons of use before you think about replacement.
Electrical and installation details
Installation is as simple as changing a light bulb: thread it into any standard E26 socket — table lamp, clamp lamp, gooseneck fixture, track head, pendant or recessed can — on AC110 ~ 130V. No driver, no ballast, no special wiring. The bulb is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer, useful for easing intensity on delicate cuttings, and it is rated for damp locations with 40 to 85% relative humidity, which covers humid grow tents, greenhouse benches and propagation areas. Operating and storage temperature range is -20 to 50 °C, and the bulb carries cULus certification for use in Canadian residential and commercial installations.

How to use it, and documentation
Lighting schedule matters as much as the bulb itself. When the plant also gets natural sunlight, run the LED grow bulb for a maximum of 8 hours in a row, then switch it off for 4 hours; in a windowless room, basement or closet where there is no daylight at all, up to 16 consecutive hours is recommended. A simple plug-in timer makes this effortless. Concrete uses: starting tomato and pepper seedlings in February, keeping basil and lettuce going on a restaurant's prep shelf, holding orchids and tropicals healthy in a north-facing condo, brightening displays at a garden centre or florist, or supplementing a small greenhouse grow light bench on short winter days.
