Built to replace halogen, not just imitate it
The PAR38 LED bulb keeps the classic reflector shape and the standard E26 medium screw base, so it seats in the same fixtures your halogen floods have always used. The difference is what happens after you flip the switch: an SMD LED light engine built around a Luminus chip, running at a fraction of the power and a fraction of the heat. Halogen PAR38 lamps waste most of their energy as heat, which is why they fail early, burn fingers and push up cooling loads in a busy store. This LED version is a good replacement for a 120W halogen while consuming only 15W, and it is rated for 25 000 hours — the kind of lifespan that takes ceiling maintenance off your to-do list.
Light quality and beam control
With 1250 lumens and a 40° beam angle, you get a medium flood: a controlled pool of light that works for general-purpose illumination without the harsh, pinpoint look of a narrow spot. Space them out over a kitchen island, a retail aisle or a reception desk and the beams overlap into even, comfortable coverage. Two colour temperatures are offered — Bright White 3000K, warm and inviting for homes, restaurants and hospitality spaces, and Daylight 5000K, a clean white that keeps workshops, garages, kitchens and display areas looking sharp. Pick the one that matches the rest of your indoor LED lighting so the whole room reads as one consistent scheme.

Installation and dimming
Installation could not be simpler: cut the power, remove the halogen lamp, screw in the LED and restore power. No driver to add, no housing to change, no ceiling to open — the bulb runs directly on standard 120V line voltage through its E26 socket. For dimming, the bulb goes from 10% to 100%, so plan your circuits with an LED-compatible dimmer rather than an old halogen-era rheostat; if lamps flicker or buzz at the low end, the dimmer is almost always the culprit, and reducing the number of lamps per dimmer or switching to a model made for low LED loads solves it. The wide -40 to 45°C operating range means the bulb also handles cold entry vestibules, garages and unheated storage areas.
Where it earns its keep, and what's in the Documentation tab
Think of every place a halogen flood used to live: recessed cans over a kitchen counter, track heads aimed at a feature wall, adjustable gimbals in a boutique lighting a clothing rack, cylinder pendants over a café bar, floods in a showroom, a salon or a dental clinic reception. In a home, a set of these in 3000K turns a dated living room into a warm, dimmable space; in a shop, 5000K makes merchandise and signage pop. Because each bulb replaces a 120W halogen with a 15W LED, a retrofit of a dozen fixtures changes your hydro bill noticeably while cutting relamping trips to the ladder.
