Built for continuous, dot-free light
The continuous lighting profile from LED MONTREAL combines all the advantages of LED lighting with the consistent, unbroken look you would expect from a neon tube. The result comes from pairing a high-output, high-density LED strip with a state-of-the-art aluminum channel and its diffuser: the diffuser blends the individual diodes into one even line, while the extrusion keeps the tape straight, protected from dust, fingers and accidental knocks. Instead of a wobbly adhesive strip that sags after a summer, you get a rigid, professional-looking LED strip housing that stays put.

Choosing the right strip and power supply
Because the interior width is 12.2 mm (0.48"), select an LED strip whose PCB fits within that channel — that is the only compatibility rule that matters here. For the smoothest result, go with a high-density tape: the more diodes per metre, the less chance of seeing scallops through the diffuser. Then size your driver to the total wattage of the strip you install, and remember that a long run may need to be fed from both ends or split into sections to avoid voltage drop and a dimmer far end. If you plan to dim, make sure the strip, the driver and the dimmer are designed to work together. This profile is a mechanical component: it carries and protects the tape, it does not supply power or dimming on its own.
Installation, cutting and layout
Aluminum extrusion cuts cleanly with a fine-tooth blade or a mitre saw, so an 8 foot bar can be shortened to fit a cabinet, or several bars can be lined end to end for a long continuous run along a hallway, a bar front or a display wall. Mount it on any flat, solid surface — the underside of an upper cabinet, the top of a cabinet for cove lighting, a shelf edge, a toe-kick, a wall or a ceiling. Plan where the wire will exit before you stick the tape down, keep the driver accessible for service, and clean the surface well so the strip's adhesive bonds properly. Because the channel is surface mount, there is no drywall cutting and no need to open finished millwork.
Where it earns its keep — and documentation
Under-cabinet lighting over a glossy quartz, granite or glass counter is the classic case: the reflection in the stone would reveal every diode of a bare strip, while this diffused aluminum profile shows a single clean line. It is equally at home in cove and ceiling details, closets and pantries, basement stairs, home theatres, garages and workshops, and on the commercial side in retail display cases, reception desks, restaurant bars and office millwork — residential and commercial projects alike.
