Built around aluminum
The heart of this fixture is a 35 mm diameter aluminum profile, extruded in a round shape so the light reads as a floating tube rather than a flat channel. Aluminum is used here for one very practical reason: it pulls heat away from the LED strip mounted inside and spreads it along the full length of the body. LEDs are sensitive to heat, and a strip glued directly to drywall or wood bakes itself slowly. Inside this aluminum extrusion, the same strip runs cooler, holds its brightness better and keeps its colour more consistent from one end of the 8-foot run to the other. The same body doubles as the structural anchor for the suspension hardware, so nothing pulls on the strip or the wiring.
A clean line of light
A bare LED strip shows every individual diode. Slide it into this profile with its diffuser and those dots blend into one smooth band of illumination — the look people are after when they search for LED ceiling strip lights or architectural light bars. Because the profile is a full 8 feet long, you get a long, uninterrupted line with no mid-run joints to break the effect. The end caps finish both extremities cleanly, hiding the cut edge of the extrusion and the strip connection for a tidy, professional result from every viewing angle.

Installation and pairing
Mounting is straightforward: the included suspension kit attaches the profile to a standard ceiling, and you set the drop height to suit the room — lower over a dining table or island for intimacy, higher in an office or showroom for broad, even coverage. Hang two or three units in a row for a long workspace, or stagger them at different heights over a stairwell or an open living area for that magazine-worthy custom installation. The LED strip is chosen separately, which is the beauty of the system: you decide the brightness, the colour temperature and the voltage, and you can change the strip later without touching the profile. LED Montreal designed this profile as the perfect match for the 2835 High Output LED strip, which delivers continuous, even lighting across the full length.
Before you order
Plan your run before cutting anything: measure the space, confirm where the power feed and the driver will sit, and leave the wire path discreet so the suspended look stays clean. Note that the diffuser may take up to 4 from the effective lit length, so allow a little margin when you cut your strip. No spec sheet or IES file is currently listed for this item in the Documentation tab; if you need help matching a strip, a driver or a dimming method to your project, our team can walk you through the combination that fits your ceiling and your room.
