Built to replace halogen, not imitate it
The PLYC3243 is a PAR20 SMD LED bulb, meaning the light is produced by surface-mount LED chips behind a pressed reflector lens rather than a burning filament. That construction is what lets a 7W lamp stand in for a 50W halogen while staying comfortable to the touch and easy on your electrical load. The compact body measures 63 mm in diameter by 81 mm in length, the classic PAR20 footprint, so it slides into the same track heads, cans and accent housings your halogens came out of — no adapters, no rewiring, no new trim.
Light quality and beam control
With 550 lumens pushed through a 40° beam angle, you get a medium flood: wide enough for general lighting in a hallway or over a counter, tight enough to sculpt a feature wall or a product display. This SKU is the 3000K Bright White option, a warm, flattering tone that suits wood, brick and skin tones — ideal in living spaces, restaurants and retail. The PLYC3243 range is also offered in 5000K Daylight when a crisper, cooler look is needed, so you can spec one colour temperature for the showroom and another for the workshop.
Electrical, dimming and installation
The bulb uses an E26 medium screw base and runs on 120V, the standard North American residential and light-commercial supply. It is dimmable from 10% to 100%, which means real mood control rather than a token step down — pair it with an LED-compatible dimmer and, if you're upgrading an old halogen circuit, remember that the total load drops dramatically, so a dimmer rated for low LED loads will give you the smoothest curve. Installation is simply power off, screw in, power on. Its working temperature range of -40 to 45°C also makes it a solid choice for covered porches, garages, cold rooms and cottages.

Where it earns its keep, and what's in the Documentation tab
Homeowners use these over kitchen islands, in hallway pot lights, above staircases and on living-room track bars; contractors specify them for condo retrofits where dozens of halogen PAR20s are pulled out at once; boutiques, cafés, salons and galleries run them in display track to highlight merchandise and artwork without cooking it. Because each lamp lasts 25,000 hours, ladder time and re-lamping calls drop off sharply — a real argument in high ceilings and commercial spaces.
