Built for a clean, finished installationThe LUX710 is a
U shape surface-mount aluminum profile designed to carry LED tape light in a perfectly straight line. Extruded aluminum is the material of choice here for two reasons: it stays rigid over a full 4-foot span so your light line never sags or wanders, and it acts as a heat sink for the strip bonded inside it. LED diodes and their drivers-on-board hate trapped heat, and a strip stuck directly to drywall, wood or melamine has nowhere to send that heat. Mounted in an
aluminum extrusion, the same strip runs cooler and holds its brightness and colour longer. Keep in mind that this is a slim profile with a relatively small volume of aluminum, so its heat dissipation capacity suits standard interior strip installations rather than very high-output runs.

Light quality and low profileAt just
6 mm high, the side walls of this channel sit low beside the strip, which means they do not shade or clip the beam the way a deep channel can. You keep the full spread of your
LED strip lighting while gaining a clean aluminum border that hides the copper pads, the solder joints and the adhesive line. The open U format also keeps installation simple: the strip presses straight into the channel and stays exactly where you put it. For a softer, more uniform line without visible dots, pair the profile with a diffused strip or a higher-density tape — the profile itself is designed to let light out, not to hold it back.
Installation, mounting and compatibilityThe profile accepts
IP20 strips and some
IP65 strips, depending on the thickness of the silicone coating, so check your tape width against the 18.7 mm channel before you commit to a long run. Mount it with the optional aluminum clips screwed to the surface — the profile then snaps into the clips, which lets you remove it later for service — or bond it directly with heavy-duty double-sided tape when you cannot drill, such as on finished millwork or glass shelving. Matching
end caps close both ends of the run for a tidy detail. Cut the extrusion to length with a fine-tooth blade or a mitre saw, file the edge, and plan your power feed at one end so the wiring disappears behind the cabinet or into the cove.
Where it works and what to readHomeowners use the LUX710 for under-cabinet kitchen lighting, closet and pantry shelving, stair and hallway accents, headboards, bathroom vanities and basement coves. Contractors and small businesses reach for it in retail display cases, bar shelving, reception desks, signage backlighting and office millwork, where a visible strip would look unfinished. For runs longer than four feet with fewer seams, the
8 feet interior aluminum U shape profile for LED strip (LUX710) is the same extrusion in a longer length and mixes perfectly with this one on the same job. The full
technical spec sheet for the LUX710 is available in the Documentation tab with the exact dimensions, so you can confirm fit before ordering.
