Traditional tape lights space individual diodes along a board, which is why you see a row of dots through a diffuser. A COB LED strip spreads hundreds of tiny chips under a phosphor coating, so what you see is one uninterrupted band of light. Wiring, dimming and installation
Power comes from a 24V DC source; plan on a 12 W/m power supply so the driver isn't running at its limit. The roll ships with a female DC plug (15 cm) on one end, ready for a plug-in transformer, and two bare wires (15 cm) on the other end for hard-wired setups. Cuts are made every 50 mm on the marked lines — and because no quick connector exists for the 8 mm COB format, cut ends are reconnected by soldering extension wires, as shown in the product images. Dimming works two ways: a low-voltage dimmer/remote combo on the DC side, or a dimmable power supply controlled by a 120V AC dimmer. Heat dissipation isn't strictly necessary, but installing the strip on a heat-dissipating surface or inside an aluminum channel is recommended for long-term performance. Clean and dry the surface before pressing the 3M adhesive down.
