Built like a bulb should be
The PLYC1712 uses a plastic casing instead of glass, which makes the bulb lighter in the socket and far less nerve-wracking to handle on a ladder or in a kid's room. Its dimensions are true to the classic A19 profile — 60 mm diameter by 112.5 mm length — so it slips into lamp harps, glass shades, semi-flush ceiling fixtures and pendant sockets designed for standard incandescent lamps, with no oversized driver hump to fight with. The E26 medium base is the North American household standard, meaning no adapters and no rewiring: unscrew the old bulb, screw in the new one.
Light quality and dimming
With 1100 lumens from just 11W, this LED bulb delivers the punch of a 75W halogen at a fraction of the draw. The 270° beam angle is the key detail most people overlook: instead of firing light in one narrow cone, it wraps light almost all the way around the bulb, so shades glow evenly and ceilings don't go dark. The 2700K warm white colour is the traditional incandescent-style tone — golden, flattering on skin and wood, perfect for evening rooms. Dimming runs from 10% to 100%, giving you a genuine range from full task brightness down to a low, restful glow.

Installation and electrical notes
Installation is as simple as lighting gets: the bulb runs directly on standard 120V residential power through the E26 socket — no driver, no transformer, no extra hardware. For dimming, pair it with a wall dimmer rated for LED loads and remember that LED bulbs draw very little current, so a dimmer loaded with only one or two bulbs may behave better with a few more on the circuit. If you're mixing fixtures in the same room, keep every bulb at the same 2700K so the light reads consistent from lamp to lamp. The wide -40 to 45°C operating range means it also handles unheated porches, garages and cottages through a Canadian winter.
Where it earns its keep, and documentation
Think of every socket you use daily: bedside lamps, living room floor lamps, dining pendants, hallway and stairwell fixtures, bathroom vanity strips, rental units where tenants shouldn't be changing bulbs twice a year, cottages closed up half the year. On the commercial side, cafés, bistros, boutiques, hair salons, waiting rooms and small inns get the warm, welcoming light customers associate with comfort — and at 11W per socket the operating load stays low across dozens of fixtures. At 15 000 hours of rated life, maintenance calls drop sharply in buildings with high ceilings or hard-to-reach fixtures.
