A four-way junction for track lighting
A straight track lights a line; an X connector lights an area. The XC6104-BK joins four track sections at right angles in a cross configuration, giving you a central hub from which four branches of track lighting leave in four directions. That changes how you plan a ceiling: instead of long parallel runs, each fed separately, you can create a single cross or a full grid and place track heads exactly above the counter, the display table, the artwork or the work surface that needs light.
Construction and electrical connection
The connector has a low-profile aesthetic design, so the junction reads as part of the track rather than as a bulky box. Its solid conductors provide a quadruple track line power connection: the current that reaches the junction continues into all four track sections, and heads mounted on any branch are powered. The product is cULus listed. As with any line-voltage installation, turn the power off at the breaker, seat each track section fully into the connector before switching back on, and have the work done by a qualified electrician in line with local electrical code.
Why choose the black finish
The black track connector is made for modern and industrial interiors: dark or painted ceilings, exposed ductwork, black cabinetry, restaurants and bars with a moody palette. Paired with black track and black track heads, it gives an uninterrupted line with no visual break at the junction. The same X connector is also offered in white and in brushed nickel, so each finish can be matched to the rest of the track system in the room.
Planning your layout
Start with the position of the power feed, then decide where the cross will sit: centred over a kitchen island, in the middle of a store aisle, or at the heart of an open office. Measure each branch toward the areas you want to light, and count the connectors and track sections before ordering. The manufacturer states that its track system is compatible with all of its track, accessories and connectors, so the X connector works alongside the straight joints, corner connectors and heads of the same line when you extend or reconfigure the grid later.
Care and everyday use
Once installed, the cross connector needs very little attention. Dust it with a dry, soft cloth with the power off, and check that each track section is still firmly seated if you move heads around often. When a shop changes its displays or a family redoes its kitchen, the layout can grow from the same junction: keep the XC6104-BK as the fixed hub and simply reposition the track heads on its four branches.
