Power your track from an outlet
Every track needs a power feed. Most are hardwired to a ceiling junction box, which means cutting and wiring. The WE6110-BN offers a simpler path: its connector goes into the open end of the track, and its cord plugs into a wall receptacle. This is what makes plug-in track lighting possible in rooms where there is no box at the start of the track, or where you want an installation that can come with you when you move.
Built for a clean look
The body of this wired end has a low profile, so the end of the track stays neat and unobtrusive. Solid conductors carry power into the track, and the polarized cord ensures the plug is always inserted in the correct orientation. Mounting hardware is included. The brushed nickel finish suits white or light ceilings, nickel and silver track heads, stainless steel and transitional interiors, where it reads as refined rather than industrial.
Step-by-step installation
Disconnect the power first. Loosen the set screw on the track end cap and remove the cap from the end that will receive the feed. Slide the wired end connector into the open end of the track, gently and without forcing, and check that the polarity edges of the connector and of the track are aligned. Tighten the positioning screws, then the ground screw on the back of the connector. The instructions also show how to add an in-line on/off switch to the cord. Read everything before you begin, and hire a licensed electrician if you are unsure.
Important safety points
According to the instructions, the track system is for dry locations only, never damp or wet ones. Track sections must not be cut. Always disconnect power before extending the track or changing its layout. Keep fixtures away from curtains and other combustible materials, and follow the minimum mounting height given in the instructions. Connect only track fixtures to the track, never power tools, extension cords or appliances.
Great for renters and retailers
The WE6110-BN is perfect for apartments and condos where hardwiring is not an option, for home offices, reading nooks and craft rooms, and for shops and galleries that rearrange their displays often. Combine it with the manufacturer's track and your chosen track heads, plug it in, and point the light exactly where it is needed.
