What a wired end power feed does
A track needs a power feed to bring electricity into its conductors. The usual method is a connector wired to a junction box in the ceiling. The WE6110-BK takes a different route: it plugs into a wall receptacle, and its connector inserts into the open end of the track. That makes it the go-to solution for plug-in track lighting, when there is no box where the track begins or when you prefer a setup that can move with you.
Construction and finish
This power feed has a low-profile body that does not draw attention at the end of the run. Solid conductors carry the current into the track, and the polarized cord ensures the plug goes into the receptacle the right way. Mounting hardware is included. The black finish is a strong match for black track, matte black track heads, dark ceilings, exposed ductwork and industrial or contemporary interiors.
Installation
With the power disconnected, loosen the set screw on the end cap and remove the cap from the end of the track that will receive the feed. Insert the wired end connector into the open end of the track without forcing it, making sure the polarity edges of the track and of the connector line up. Tighten the positioning screws, then tighten the ground screw on the back of the connector. The instructions also explain how to fit an in-line on/off switch on the cord. Read the complete instructions before starting, and call a licensed electrician if you have any doubt.
Safety tips from the instructions
Use the track system in dry locations only, never in damp or wet areas. Do not cut track sections. Disconnect power before adding to the track or changing its configuration. Keep fixtures well away from curtains and other combustible materials, and respect the minimum mounting height stated in the instructions. Only track fixtures should be connected to the track: never power tools, extension cords or appliances.
Where it makes sense
The WE6110-BK is a smart choice for condos, apartments and rented homes, for home offices and craft rooms, and for boutiques, cafés and galleries that change their displays often. Pair it with the manufacturer's track and your favourite track heads, plug it in, and aim the light exactly where you want it.
