What a center power feed does
Most track runs are powered from one end, but many rooms have their ceiling box in the middle. The CF6108-BK center power feed kit lets you connect the track to the building wiring at a point along its length. The supply comes from the ceiling box behind the feed, and the track continues on each side, carrying power to every track light head installed along it. This is what makes it possible to swap a central ceiling fixture for a track without moving any wiring.
Ideal for renovations
When you replace an old flush mount or a chandelier over a dining table, a kitchen island or a living room, the existing box is usually centred in the space. With a center feed, the new track is centred too, which gives a balanced look and even light across the area. In a boutique, a gallery or an office, it lets you light a long wall, a counter or a row of shelves from one power point, with heads aimed wherever the display needs them.
Installation tips
Measure the room and decide how far the track should extend on each side of the box before cutting or assembling the track. Turn the power off at the panel, connect the supply conductors to the feed, secure it over the ceiling box and attach the track sections before installing the heads. Make sure the feed and track belong to the same track system, and have the work done by a qualified electrician in line with the electrical code of your province.
A black finish that makes a statement
The black version suits black track, dark or painted ceilings, exposed ducts and loft-style spaces where the lighting hardware is part of the design. It also creates a crisp contrast on a white ceiling for a graphic, contemporary effect, especially when paired with black heads along the whole run.
Care and planning
Maintenance is minimal: dust the feed and the track with a dry cloth when needed, always with the power turned off. Keep the SKU CF6108-BK in your project documents so you can order the same kit for another room or when you add a second track lighting run in a store.
