Built for LED, not adapted to it
Most dimming headaches come from using a control designed for incandescent loads on modern LED electronics. The UNIDIM takes the opposite approach: it is an AC slide wall dimmer engineered around LED bulbs and LED drivers from the start. It replaces both low-voltage magnetic dimmers and standard dimmers, so one device can cover a mixed renovation where some circuits feed 120V LED bulbs and others feed low-voltage LED strip through a driver. The slide bar moves fluidly through the range, giving you fine, gradual control rather than the coarse jumps you get from a cheap rotary control.
The low-end trim makes the difference
The feature that sets this dimmer apart is the adjustable low-end dim setting thumbwheel. Every LED load has its own minimum stable point; below that point, lights flicker, shimmer or drop out entirely. With the thumbwheel you dial that floor in yourself, once, at commissioning: slide the control to its lowest position, then turn the wheel until the light sits steady and low. From then on, the full travel of the slider is usable and the fade to the bottom stays smooth. This is exactly what makes the UNIDIM so widely compatible across LED bulbs, drivers and strip installations.

Installation and compatibility
The UNIDIM mounts in a standard wall box on the line side of your lighting circuit, controlling 120V AC before it reaches your bulbs or your driver. For a single-colour LED strip, wire the dimmer ahead of a 24V or 12V Universal Dimmable LED Driver and let the driver translate the signal to the tape — you keep the control on the wall where people expect it, with no extra remote or inline module. For 120V LED bulbs, it wires like any conventional dimmer. Keep the total connected load within the 300W maximum, and remember that the ON/OFF switch is there so users can cut the lights without touching the slider, preserving the level you set. Wiring should be done by a qualified electrician in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and your local requirements.
Where it earns its keep
In a home, it is the control you want on a dining room chandelier, a kitchen island run of LED tape, a basement home theatre or a bedroom cove. In commercial work, think restaurant dining rooms that shift from bright lunch service to low evening ambiance, boutiques highlighting displays, waiting rooms, salons, clinics and small offices. For contractors, the value is simple: one universal wall dimmer to stock instead of guessing between magnetic low-voltage and standard models on every call-back. Pick up the UNIDIM with your LED drivers and strip and you have a complete, dimmable system from the wall plate to the last LED.
