Slim by design, made for retrofits
The LITELINE SLIMLED MULTI 4" belongs to the family of ultra-thin recessed LED downlights that changed how renovations get lit. Instead of a deep metal can sitting between the joists, you get a slim luminaire that seats into a 4-inch ceiling aperture and finishes flush with the drywall. That matters when you are working under ductwork, in a finished basement, in a condo with a concrete deck above, or in any ceiling where the old housing left you no room. It is the classic 4 inch pot light replacement: same familiar look from below, far less structure above.
Light quality you can actually see
Photometric testing on the SLMT4-8W30K-HO reports 747 lumens from 7.7 W, an efficacy of 97 lm/W, and a peak intensity of 298 cd. The measured colour temperature is 3109 K — the warm white most homeowners ask for in living rooms and bedrooms, and a comfortable neutral in commercial rooms. Colour rendering is CRI 84.3, backed by ANSI/IES TM-30-18 results of Rf 94.9 and Rg 85.6, with a dominant wavelength of 584 nm. Translation: merchandise, millwork and complexions read naturally under it. The distribution is wide and soft, with a 99.9° beam angle at 50% brightness, a 151.9° field angle and a 168.2° cut-off angle, so the light washes ceilings and walls instead of punching narrow holes of brightness.

Electrical and layout planning
The fixture runs on standard 120 V residential and commercial power and pulls a mere 0.069 A, so a long run of downlights stays comfortably within a typical branch circuit — a real advantage when you are lighting an entire main floor or an open office. The published beam data makes layout straightforward: at a 4 ft mounting height you get 201 lx (19 fc) over a 9.5 ft spread; at 8 ft, 50 lx (5 fc) over 19 ft; at 12 ft, 22 lx (2 fc) over 28.5 ft. The spec sheet also publishes zonal lumen summaries (605 lm, or 80.99%, falls within 0–60°), coefficients of utilization and UGR glare tables so designers and electricians can size a room properly rather than guessing at spacing.
Where to use it, and what comes with the page
Think kitchens and hallways in a bungalow retrofit, a basement family room where every inch of joist space counts, bedroom and closet lighting, stairwells, plus commercial work like offices, clinics, salons, boutiques and back-of-house corridors. Because the spread is so wide, it excels at even ambient lighting rather than tight accenting — combine several on one dimmer-ready circuit for a soft, uniform ceiling. Everything documented above comes straight from the SLMT4-8W spec sheet available in the Documentation tab, including the full photometric report, SPD curve and utilization data you may need for a permit set or an energy submission. For questions about aperture size, ceiling thickness or quantities for your project, our team is happy to help you plan the layout.
