Construction and designThe LUNA 2" square is built around a durable airtight aluminum body with an anodized blue heat sink that maximizes airflow around the LED source — the reason a fixture this compact can run 7 W continuously and still reach a projected life of 70% @ 50,000 hrs. The
black (BK) trim and regressed optics work together to cut glare, so the ceiling reads as a clean grid of small squares rather than a row of bright dots. The LUNA Series was developed as a flexible, low-glare and aesthetically pleasing luminaire for contractors, builders, homeowners and designers, and the same family is offered in 3", 3.5", 4" and 5" or 6" apertures when a project calls for visual uniformity from room to room.
Light quality and colour selectionAn on-fixture
CCT select switch gives five positions — 2700 K, 3000 K, 3500 K, 4000 K and 5000 K — so one SKU covers warm residential ceilings and crisp task areas alike. Output follows the setting: 626 lumens at 2700 K, 650 at 3000 K, 675 at 3500 K, 693 at 4000 K and 640 at 5000 K, up to 700 lumens and up to 103 lumens per watt. With a typical CRI of 96 and a 40° beam spread, this

Electrical and installationThe fixture ships with an extruded aluminum hardwire box housing a 170 mA dimmable Class II electronic LED driver, plus an 18" (457 mm) FT6 rated cable with a DC 2.1 connector between driver and fixture, approved for use in plenums and suspended ceilings — note that this cable is not approved for branch wiring. Three "Quick connect" push-in terminals in the driver compartment speed up the rough-in, and two spring-loaded clips let the housing grab any ceiling material on a
remodel job. For new construction, an optional pre-mounting plate is available, and the accessory range includes a new construction mounting kit (pre-mounting plate and hanger bars), butterfly brackets, a 60" flexible connector to extend the distance between fixture and driver, a vapor barrier, and a commercial grade driver (120~347V / 120~277V, 0-10V dimming) for spec-grade jobs. Fixture dimensions are 2 3/4" (70 mm), 1 5/8" (42 mm), 2 5/16" (59 mm), 1 1/2" (38 mm), 2 13/16" (71 mm) and 4 5/8" (117 mm).
Applications and documentationBecause it is IC rated, airtight and wet location rated for indoor/outdoor use, this
square recessed downlight handles insulated ceilings, bathrooms and showers, covered porches, soffits and entry canopies — a real advantage in Canadian homes where a downlight must cope with humidity, insulation contact and a -40 °C start. Small commercial spaces use it in wall niches, corridors, change rooms and retail displays; at home it works as perimeter lighting in a kitchen, over a vanity, along a hallway or in a staircase.
