Built slim, built to disappear
The whole point of a good under-cabinet LED bar is that you see the light, not the fixture. At 50 cm long, 3.5 cm wide and just 0.75 cm high, this bar hides behind a cabinet valance or sits flat against the underside of a shelf without stealing headroom over your counter or catching your eye when you are seated at the island. That low profile also makes it a natural fit for shallow spaces where a standard fixture simply will not go: inside a glass display case, along the back of a pantry shelf, under a floating vanity or behind a mirror frame.
Light quality from 5050 chips
Each bar carries 30 super bright 5050 SMD LEDs. The 5050 chip is the workhorse of accent and task lighting because it puts out a generous amount of light per diode, and spreading thirty of them over fifty centimetres gives you a continuous, even band of light rather than the scalloped bright-and-dark pattern you get from spaced puck lights. On a countertop, that means you can read a recipe, chop vegetables or check a coffee order without your own hands casting a shadow on the work surface.

Wiring, sensor behaviour and expanding the kit
The bar operates on 12V DC, the same low-voltage standard used across LED strip and accent lighting, which keeps installation simple and safe to handle. The built-in motion sensor is a hand-wave type: bring your hand within 5 cm of the sensor window and the bar lights up; repeat the gesture to shut it off. It behaves like a touchless switch, not an occupancy timer, so the light stays on exactly as long as you want it — handy when you are kneading dough, sorting tools or restocking a shelf and do not want the light dropping out on you. If one bar is not enough for the run, select the second-bar option and the kit ships with two bars and a Y-shaped splitter so both can be plugged in parallel on the same circuit, keeping a single point of connection behind the cabinet.
Where it works, and the paperwork
Think kitchen uppers and islands, bar backs, pantries, laundry rooms, garage workbenches, closets, entryway consoles and basement storage on the residential side; on the commercial side, retail display shelving, reception counters, salon and barber stations, office supply cabinets, hotel minibar nooks and museum-style vitrines. In Canadian homes where winter mornings and short afternoons mean the lights are on for most of the day, a touchless bar that only runs when you actually need it is a smart little habit.
