Built small on purpose
The MLR2 mini single color RF controller was designed for the spot where nothing else fits: behind a toe-kick, inside a cove, above a cabinet door, inside a millwork chase. At 76 mm x 19,2 mm x 8,6 mm it is barely longer than a finger, and the WAGO lever connectors are moulded right into the body so the whole assembly stays flat and tidy. There are no screws to torque, no wire nuts to bury and no solder joints to crack later. Lift the levers, insert the stripped conductors from your LED strip and from your hard-wired transformer, push the levers back down and the connection is mechanically locked and serviceable — you can pull a strip apart years later without cutting anything.
Radio frequency control that actually reaches
Because the MLR2 works on 2.4 GHz RF rather than infrared, it does not need line of sight. You can bury the receiver completely and still command it from up to 30 m away, through cabinetry, aluminum extrusions and typical interior partitions. It is compatible with 4-zone remotes, so one handheld can address several areas of the same room — island, perimeter, open shelving — and a single controller can be paired with up to 12 different remotes when you want a control point at each door. The onboard pairing button makes learning and clearing a remote a matter of seconds. Its 2.4 GHz signal repeater technology means multiple MLR2 units placed along a long run keep talking to each other, which is exactly what you need in a long corridor, a wraparound cove or a retail display wall.

Wiring, load and installation
The MLR2 is a low-voltage single colour LED strip dimmer and receiver: it is installed on the secondary side, between a hard-wired transformer and the tape. Feed it DC12~24V, respect the common anode output and match the polarity marked on the housing. Size your run to the output rating — 6A per channel, total max 6A, and to stay within Class 2 requirements plan for 4A at 24V or 5A at 12V. On longer installations, split the tape into sections, give each section its own controller and let the repeater function keep them in sync rather than overloading one device. The iP20 rating means dry indoor locations only, so keep it out of showers, soffits and anywhere exposed to weather, and respect the -10~40°C working temperature by leaving a little air around the unit inside sealed cabinetry.
Where it earns its keep, and documentation
Think kitchen under-cabinet and toe-kick lighting, bathroom vanity accents on a dry wall surface, cove and tray ceilings, stair nosing, closets, wine cellars, home theatre risers, bar fronts, reception desks, display cases and shelving in boutiques, cafés, clinics and offices. Anywhere a client says "I want the light, I don't want to see the box", the MLR2 answers. The full technical spec sheet for the MLR2 is available in the Documentation tab of this page — keep it with your project file for the load values and dimensions before you cut your millwork opening.
