A tiny receiver for single-colour strips
The MLR1 is a single-channel RF controller made for single-colour LED strip lighting. Connect the 12 to 24V DC output of your power supply to its input, wire your strip to its common anode output, and the controller does the rest, receiving the 2.4GHz commands sent by your RF remote. Its output is rated at 6A per channel, and at only 76 mm x 19.2 mm x 8.6 mm it disappears above a cabinet, inside a ceiling cove or behind a headboard, keeping your installation neat and discreet.
Zones that act as one
Lighting several areas? You need at least one controller per zone, and each zone can be made up of multiple controllers. Thanks to the auto-transmitting and auto-synchronizing feature of this single-colour controller, all the controllers on the same zone act as one: when one of them is within range of your remote, the others follow. It is a clever solution for long runs of LED strip lights fed by more than one power supply, such as kitchen cabinets on several walls, a long retail counter or a large cove ceiling.
Smartphone and voice control
The remote is not the only way to run your lights. Add the optional 2.4 GHz WiFi gateway (not included) and you can control your strip lighting from your phone from anywhere in the world, using a WiFi or mobile data connection. The gateway also supports popular third-party voice assistants, handy for switching the kitchen lights on when your hands are full. Keep in mind that the zone option may not be offered in third-party applications, and that LED Montreal does not support these interfaces.
Installation tips and applications
Size your load with care: the MLR1 handles a maximum total output of 6A, but to comply with Class 2 requirements keep it to 4A at 24V or 5A at 12V. Up to 30 m of RF control distance gives you comfortable reach across a kitchen, a basement or a small shop. Its IP20 rating calls for a dry, protected location, and its working temperature of -10°C to 40°C suits indoor spaces. Popular uses include under-cabinet lighting, bookshelves, display cases, headboards, stair and toe-kick lighting, bars and reception desks.
