What it is and what it does
The E2-RF is a 2-in-1 RF LED controller for low-voltage tape light: one device, two personalities. Connect a single-colour strip and it becomes a smooth dimmer; connect a CCT adjustable white strip and it becomes a colour-temperature controller, letting you slide from warm to cool white on the same run. Its zoning capability covers 1 to 8 zones, which means you can address the kitchen island, the backsplash, the pantry and the coffee bar separately, or give each room in a basement its own scene, without multiplying hardware families. The self-repeating function is the quiet hero here: every E2-RF on the network relays the RF signal, so coverage grows as you add controllers instead of fading out.

Electrical and installation details
Everything happens on the low-voltage side: the controller sits between the power supply and the strip, and dims on the 12V or 24V output. That is why it must be fed by a non-dimmable power supply — a dimmable driver upstream fights the controller and causes flicker or erratic behaviour. Two input options are provided: a DC barrel jack for plug-in adapters and two clips for hardwired supplies, so you choose based on the job. The tool-free wiring system asks only that you skin 10 mm of conductor, insert it fully and clip it down; no screwdriver, no loose terminal screws to re-torque later. Output is common anode, matching standard single-colour and CCT white tape, and the 6A per channel rating with a max total of 12A (4A at 24V or 5A at 12V for Class 2) tells you exactly how much strip each controller can carry — size your runs accordingly and add a second controller rather than overloading one.
Where the RF signal matters
At 2.4GHz with a 30 m control distance, the remote does not need line of sight. You can close a cabinet door, stand on the other side of a partition wall, or leave the controller tucked above a ceiling cove and still adjust the light. In a long condo corridor, a retail floor or a two-storey staircase, the self-repeating network keeps commands travelling from one E2-RF to the next. The iP20 rating and the -10~40°C working range place it in dry, protected indoor spots: inside a cabinet, in a plenum-free ceiling recess, behind a valance, in a millwork void or in an electrical box area — not outdoors, not in a shower, not buried in insulation.
Applications, compatibility and documentation
Think kitchen under-cabinet lighting on three zones, a basement with cove lighting and a home theatre step light, a boutique with window display, shelving and cash counter each on their own channel, a dental clinic where staff shift from warm evening white to crisp task white with one press, or a garage workshop where the strip dims for ambience and jumps to full output for work. It works with 12V and 24V single-colour and CCT adjustable white LED strips, common anode, paired with a matching non-dimmable power supply sized for the load. Compact at 100.6 mm x 40 mm x 17.6 mm, it hides almost anywhere.
