LIVE END CONNECTOR FOR H TYPE TRACK - BLACK

LIVE END CONNECTOR FOR H TYPE TRACK - BLACK

SKU: TRACKPOW-B-LIVE

Brand: LED MONTREAL

No electrical box above the spot where your track should go? The live end connector for H type track TRACKPOW-B-LIVE solves that common renovation problem by feeding power into the rail from its end. Sometimes called a live end feed, an end feed connector or a track power feed, it sits at the start of the run, receives the supply wires on its terminals and passes the current into the track, so the entire black track lighting line comes alive from that single point. It is the starting block of any H type run powered from the end.

Think of it as a small junction point placed at the end of the track. Instead of a canopy centred on a ceiling box, the power arrives where the line begins, often near a wall, a beam or a bulkhead where a supply cable is already close. The wires are connected to its terminals, the first track section is joined to it, and the H type track heads placed along the rail receive their power from there. In black, the connector continues the dark line of the rail and keeps the start of the run clean and graphic, whether the ceiling is painted black, left in raw concrete or crossed by exposed ducts, a detail that keeps your black track lighting seamless.

It is the natural choice in basements where the only supply comes down a wall, in lofts where the ceiling is exposed structure and a new central box would be hard to add, and in restaurants, bars and taprooms where the track starts at a wall and runs out over the room. It is made for the H type track system of the same range: straight black sections, black heads, joiners and corner connectors. When a ceiling box does sit under the run, the floating canopy for H type track in black is the alternative feed. Decide where your line begins, and start it with the right track connector.

Power from the end of the line
Most track installations are fed from a ceiling box through a canopy. In many renovations, though, the box is in the wrong place, or there is no box at all where the track should run. The live end connector changes the starting point: it brings the supply into the H type track from its end. The wires are attached to its terminals, the connector feeds the rail, and every head along the line is powered from that end. This makes it possible to install a run where a centred canopy would never have worked.

Technical summary
Product: live end connector for H type track
Body colour: black
Mounted at: the end of the track

Wiring and installation
Plan the feed first: the connector must sit at the end of the run closest to the available supply cable. Mark its position on the ceiling before the electrician arrives, so the supply cable can be brought exactly to that point. With the power switched off at the panel, the electrician connects the conductors to the terminals; the first track section is then joined to the connector and fastened to the ceiling, followed by the rest of the run. Because this track connector is the starting point, check the direction of your layout on paper before drilling: the far end of the line is where you might later extend it with a mini joiner. All work on the building wiring must be done by a licensed electrician, in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and local regulations.

Typical black installations
A basement home theatre with a black ceiling, where the supply comes down the wall beside the screen; a microbrewery whose track starts at the brick wall and heads out over the tables; a barber shop with a line of heads above the chairs, fed from the end near the reception; a loft with exposed ducts where the track begins at a structural column. In each case, the live end connector lets the black track lighting start exactly where the power is, and the track lighting heads can then be placed, moved and re-aimed along the rail as the space evolves.

Choosing the right feed
The H type system gives you a choice of feed. With a ceiling box under the run, the black floating canopy feeds it from the box. Without a box, or when the supply arrives at the end of the line, this connector is the right choice. Either way, finish the layout with black straight sections, black heads and the track connectors of the same range for a uniform result.
