Built for the angles a corner piece cannot handleA rigid L connector only knows one angle. Real rooms are less obliging: a wall set on a slant, a chamfered corner, a vaulted ceiling or the edge of a mezzanine all create turns that are not square. This
flexible track connector joins two
H type track sections through a flexible bellows, so you can set the angle between them to match the room, then fasten the sections in place. The circuit continues through the connector, so the run beyond the turn stays powered and the heads on both sides behave as part of one line.
Specifications in briefProduct: flexible connector for H type track
Colour option: black
Lighting system: H type track
Installation tipsPlan the turns before you fasten anything. Mark the centreline of the run on the ceiling, identify every change of direction, and decide which ones are square, for the
corner connector, and which ones need the
flexible connector. Fasten the first section, set the angle of the bellows to follow your chalk line, then fasten the next section so the joint sits relaxed rather than under tension. On a sloped ceiling, use the same method along the line where the flat part meets the slope. The wiring of the power feed to the building supply must be done by a licensed electrician in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, while a qualified installer can take care of the mechanical assembly of the
track lighting.
Projects that call for flexibilityIn a restaurant, a black line can trace the angle of a bar or of a banquette set on the diagonal. In retail, it can follow a display wall that meets the shop window at a slant, bringing
track light heads to every shelf. At home, it solves the loft with a mezzanine, the games room in a finished attic, the home office tucked under a sloped roof, or the condo with an angled living room wall. Because the heads of the
black track lighting system can be repositioned and re-aimed, the whole layout keeps its flexibility long after installation, as artwork, merchandise or furniture move around.
Completing the layoutA complete black layout usually combines straight sections, one or more flexible connectors for the angled turns, the corner connector for the square ones, and a black
floating canopy where the ceiling box feeds the run. Keep all visible parts black for a consistent graphic line, and choose your
H type track heads in black as well to finish the look.
