One head, no trackTrack lighting usually means a rail carrying several heads. The monopoint canopy breaks that rule in the best way: it mounts on a ceiling electrical box and holds a single
H type track head, with no track in between. The result looks like a simple spotlight, yet it keeps everything that makes
track lighting heads useful: the adjustable aim, the choice of heads from the same system and the freedom to re-aim the light when the room changes. It is ideal where one precise beam is needed, or where a ceiling box sits right above the object you want to highlight.
At a glanceProduct: monopoint canopy for H type track head
Canopy colour: black
Head format: H type
Installation, step by stepThe canopy is designed to be fastened directly to a
ceiling electrical box using the mounting hardware supplied. The usual sequence: cut the power at the panel, remove the old fixture, have the supply wires connected to the canopy, fasten it to the box, then fit the head into the single receptacle and aim it. The connection to the house wiring is the job of a licensed electrician, following the Canadian Electrical Code and local rules. Before you decide where to use it, check that the box is located where you want the light to fall: the head can be aimed, but the
canopy stays anchored at that point of the ceiling.
Ideas for a single black spotUse it above a family portrait in a dark dining room, over a reading chair in a moody library corner, on a stone or brick feature wall, or above a bar cart in a basement lounge. In business, it puts a precise beam on a chef's table, a jeweller's counter, a hotel concierge desk or a wine display. On a black or dark-painted ceiling, the black canopy almost disappears; on a pale ceiling, it becomes a deliberate graphic touch that matches black heads and the
black track lighting installed in adjoining rooms. Because the heads come from the same
H type track system, the style stays consistent from room to room.
Monopoint or floating canopy? Both mount on a ceiling box, but they do different jobs. The monopoint carries one head, with no track. The black
floating canopy of the same range feeds a whole run of
H type track from the box, for several heads along a line. Choose the monopoint for a single accent; choose a track with a floating canopy when you want a line of light. Many restaurants combine both: a track over the bar and a monopoint above each feature table.
