Plan the run, locate your joists, anchor the rail solidly to the ceiling, then connect it to the supply through the right feed — a floating canopy over a ceiling electrical box, for example — and add a corner connector where the run turns at a right angle. Because the rail is surface mounted, there are no large cut-outs to make, which is ideal in renovations. Always cut power at the panel first, follow the Canadian Electrical Code and have the connection made by a licensed electrician.
