Where the line beginsEvery track run has a starting point, and with this part that starting point is also where the power comes in. The
live end connector takes the supply conductors on its terminals and energizes the
H type track at its starting end, so a white line can begin at a wall, a bulkhead or a partition instead of under a ceiling box. For renovators, it removes one of the most annoying constraints of track lighting: having to align the whole layout with a box that was placed for a completely different fixture.

Installing the end feedWork out the direction of the run from the supply: the connector goes at the end nearest the cable, and the line grows from there. Once a licensed electrician has landed the supply wires on the terminals, with the circuit off, the rest is a matter of assembly: the first white section joins the connector, further sections follow in line, linked with
mini joiners on a long run, and the heads go on last. Keep the first fastening close to the connector so the start of your
track lighting stays straight and neat. Every connection to the building wiring must respect the Canadian Electrical Code and local rules.
Ideas for white layoutsIn a bright kitchen, a white line can start at the ceiling edge above the backsplash and run across to the island. In an open office, it can begin at a partition and cross the room over the desks. In a white-walled gallery, it can start at the back wall and bring
track light heads over each painting. In a home gym or a hobby room, it can follow the wall where the mirror or the workbench stands, starting right next to the existing supply. Because the heads remain adjustable and movable, the same run can serve a new layout next season. On white ceilings, the whole assembly (connector, track and heads) reads as one light, clean line of
white track lighting.
End feed or floating canopy? The choice depends on where the power is. If an electrical box sits under your planned line, the
floating canopy for H type track in white feeds the track from the box. If the supply is at a wall or right where the line will begin, the
live end connector is the part you need. Whichever you choose, the white sections, heads and
track connectors of the same range complete the picture.
