Construction and trim optionsThis is a
round gimbal downlight built around an adjustable inner ring, so the light head tilts inside the housing instead of staying locked straight down. That small feature changes everything on site: you can graze a stone wall, highlight cabinetry or correct the aim on a sloped ceiling after the drywall is closed. The outer diameter measures 108 mm (4.25") with a shallow 45 mm (1.8") body, plus 63 mm (2.5") and 33 mm (1.33") dimensions detailed in the technical drawing. The trim on this SKU is brushed nickel, and the trim size is interchangeable between 3 and 4 inches — a genuine advantage in retrofits, where existing holes are rarely the size you hoped for.
Light quality and colour selectionThe 8W LED module produces 784 lm within a 40° beam angle, a focused distribution that creates defined pools of light rather than flat, shadowless glare. CRI >80 renders wood, tile, fabric and food colours accurately. Colour temperature is selected with a toggle switch on the junction box: upper position 2700K, second position 3000K, middle position 3500K, fourth position 4000K, lower position 5000K. Contractors love this because one box of fixtures covers the whole job — warm tones in bedrooms and living rooms, 3500K or 4000K in kitchens and bathrooms, 5000K in garages, workshops and task areas — and you can still change your mind before the trim goes on.

Installation, dimming and compatibilityWiring happens at the junction box, and the shallow depth makes this fixture friendly to joists, ducts and shallow bulkheads. Cut the power at the panel, confirm the cavity is clear of wiring and framing, then size your hole: 2.56"–2.95" (65–75 mm) with the 3" trim, or 3"–4.25" (78–108 mm) with the 4" trim. Because it is Type IC rated, it can be used in contact with insulation, and its damp location approval covers bathrooms, covered entries and soffits. Dimming is Triac based; the spec sheet lists the tested dimmers, including Lutron S-603P, CTCL-153P, DV600P, SCL-153P, TG600P, LG600P, MAW-600, LGCL-153P, 7SCL-153P, 600PH, DV-600P, 6838, CTELV-303P, CTCL-153PD, and Leviton 6633-P, 1C33L1, 6674 and 6838-class controls as shown in the table. Mounting plates are also referenced for both sizes: 4 inch plate (LCPLATE-4) and 3 inch plate (LCPLATE-3).
Applications and documentationTypical projects include kitchen perimeters and islands, bathroom vanities, hallway runs, basement renovations, stairwells, condo living rooms, boutique display walls, clinic waiting rooms and café seating areas. In a commercial fit-out, the 40° beam and tiltable head make it a neat picture-light or shelf-accent solution without adding track. To keep a consistent look across an open plan, this fixture is also available as
LED recessed 4" DLX round 8W white trim and
LED recessed 4" DLX round 8W black trim. The full technical PDF — drawing, cut-out dimensions, colour temperature settings, trim options, product numbers and the compatible dimmer chart — is available in the Documentation tab, so your electrician has everything needed before the first hole is cut.
