What this kit actually doesA
LED panel is built to sit in a T-bar grid or to be recessed into drywall. When neither option exists — exposed concrete, open joists, a ceiling you don't want to cut — you need a suspension solution. That's the whole job of this
hanging kit for LED panels 1x4: it attaches to the panel's mounting points and suspends it from the structure above with adjustable cables, so the fixture floats at the height you choose. It's a purely mechanical accessory, sold separately from the panel itself, which means you can specify the panel you want (wattage, colour temperature, dimming) and simply choose the mounting method afterward.
Sized for the 1x4 formatThis version is dedicated to
1x4 LED panels — the long, narrow format used over corridors, desks, reception counters, kitchen islands and retail aisles. Using hardware matched to the panel size matters more than people think: the attachment points land where the panel is reinforced, the load is shared evenly, and the fixture hangs flat instead of dipping at one end. If your project mixes formats, the same family covers 2x2 and 2x4 panels, so you can keep one consistent look across a whole floor.
Installation tipsPlan your two suspension points along the length of the panel and anchor them into solid structure — joists, strut channel or a properly rated concrete anchor. Measure your drop from the finished ceiling, not from the slab, and set both cables to the same length before you lift the panel; adjusting after the fact is far easier when the panel is lightly loaded rather than fully tightened. Leave enough slack in the supply wiring to follow the drop, run it neatly along one cable or through a separate conduit, and always make the electrical connection according to the Canadian Electrical Code and your local inspector's requirements. A second pair of hands makes the job much faster on a 4-foot panel.
Where it gets usedOpen-ceiling offices and co-working spaces where ductwork is exposed, boutiques and showrooms that want a linear light line over displays, clinics and waiting rooms, school and training rooms, garages, workshops and home basements with low-clearance beams. Suspending a
flat panel LED also helps when a ceiling is too irregular for a clean recessed cut, or when you want the light source closer to the work surface for better task lighting without changing the fixture's output.
Compatibility and documentationThis kit is intended for
1x4 LED panels only. For other sizes and mounting styles in the same family, see the
