What this kit doesA
2x4 LED panel is built to sit in a suspended T-bar ceiling. The moment there is no grid — a concrete slab, an open joist ceiling, exposed structure or plain drywall — you need a way to hold the panel level and at the right height. That is the job of this
hanging kit (SKU LCPAN-KITSUSP-2X4-LCO): it provides the suspension hardware for one 2-foot by 4-foot panel so the fixture hangs below the ceiling plane, clear of ducts, pipes and beams, exactly where the light is needed.
Installation and adjustmentThe suspension height is set on site, which is what makes these kits so easy to live with. Anchor the hardware to the structure, attach it to the panel's mounting points, then adjust each drop until the panel is dead level and aligned with its neighbours. For a row of panels over a boardroom table or a shop counter, run a laser line or a string line first and set every
LED panel suspension to that line — it takes minutes and it is the difference between a professional ceiling and a wavy one. Electrical work stays conventional: the panel is fed and connected as usual by a qualified electrician, following the Canadian Electrical Code and your local requirements. Always anchor into solid structure, never into ceiling tile or unsupported gypsum.
CompatibilityThis kit is dimensioned for the
2x4 flat panel format. Order one kit per panel. If your project mixes formats or mounting methods, the same accessory family covers them: the
hanging kit for LED panels 2x2 for square panels, the
hanging kit for LED panels 1x4 for linear panels, and the
hanging kit for LED panels 2x4 as an alternative 2x4 suspension. When a panel has to go tight to the ceiling instead of hanging, choose a surface mount solution such as the
mounting kit for multi watt LED panels in 2x4, or the
mounting kit for radio frequency LED panels when your panels are the radio-frequency controlled type.
Where contractors use itThink of every Canadian project with no drop ceiling: a warehouse mezzanine office, a mechanic's garage, a gym, a church hall, a basement renovation where headroom matters, a boutique with exposed black structure, a school shop class, a dental clinic corridor. Suspending the panel also helps spread light more evenly than a fixture buried between joists, and it makes future maintenance easier because the
LED ceiling panel stays accessible. Designers like it because a floating rectangle of light looks intentional; owners like it because it is fast to install and easy to re-level if the building settles.
Documentation and orderingNo spec sheet is currently posted for this accessory. Order the kit together with your panels so the hardware arrives with the fixtures, plan one kit per
2x4 LED light panel, and keep a couple of spares on larger jobs — on a long run of panels, having one extra suspension kit on the cart saves a trip. Quote the code LCPAN-KITSUSP-2X4-LCO to make sure you get the 2x4 version.
