It is a compact recessed step light, also searched as a square step light, a stair light or an LED step box, installed low in the wall. Its asymmetric optic directs the light instead of spreading it evenly, providing quality ambient accent lighting for hallways, corridors, stairs and entrances, as well as accent, display and wall-washing effects.

The essentials: 1.4W on a 24V constant-voltage system, warm 3000K light and a 90 CRI that keeps walls, floors and trim true to colour. The 45° asymmetric beam places the light on the tread and the floor rather than in people's eyes. A machined aluminum body works as the heat sink, the fixture rotates to aim the light, and a toolless push-in connector allows daisy-chain wiring on low-voltage cable. It is IC rated, cETLus certified and dims from 100% to 5% with a compatible dimming driver.

Installation
This hardwire low-voltage fixture operates on a 24V constant-voltage system with a remote power supply. The toolless push-in connector takes LVT cable and supports daisy-chain wiring from one fixture to the next, simplifying long stairways. The aluminum housing includes strain relief and torsion clips for a firm hold in the wall, and the fixture rotates so the light can be aimed precisely. It is IC rated; for insulated walls, the manufacturer requires a vapor barrier (WL-VBE) and a pre-mounting plate, sold separately. For indoor use only, in dry and damp locations; cETLus certified. Finish choices and other applications
The square flat white trim is the most understated option for white and pale walls.
