What this suspension kit is for
Flat LED ceiling panels are usually recessed in a T-bar grid or surface mounted, but many modern spaces have no drop ceiling at all: open office floors, renovated warehouses, schools and shops with the structure left visible. The XTLS-120-5SJT solves that problem. It allows the FORUM panels and the FORUM frame system to be suspended from an octagon box, up to ten feet from the power source, so the light hangs at a comfortable working height instead of disappearing into a tall, dark ceiling.
What is included
The kit is complete: a square canopy, a universal mounting plate, four ten-foot aircraft cables, a ten-foot 5-wire SJT cable rated 600V, four mounting brackets with grip-lock, four stoppers, four cable couplers, two thumb nuts, two strain relief components, a reinforcement bracket, machine screws and mounting screws. The canopy and plate mount directly onto a four-inch octagon box, and the four aircraft cables, held by the grip-lock brackets, carry the panel. The white finish keeps the canopy discreet on a white ceiling.
Installation tips
Plan the position of each octagon box before the panels arrive, and make sure the box and the structure above it are solid enough for the fixture. Turn off the circuit at the breaker, fix the universal mounting plate and canopy to the box, then attach the aircraft cables and set the brackets so that the panel hangs straight. The 5-wire power cable runs down from the canopy to the panel, with the strain reliefs protecting the connection at both ends. Follow the manufacturer's installation sheet and have a qualified electrician make the connections according to the local electrical code.

Where suspended panels work best
Suspended LED light panels bring the light down to the work plane in open offices, classrooms, clinics, labs, retail aisles, cafés and restaurants with exposed ceilings, and in loft condos where a clean, architectural look matters. Hang them in a straight row above a long table, stagger them over a sales floor, or centre one above a reception desk.
