A gimbal built for precision
The
3.5" Luna Gimbal (SKU RA35S-12G-DTW-90BN) is designed for installers who need more than a static downlight. The adjustable gimbal trim rotates and tilts so the beam can be aimed exactly where it's needed, making it an easy upgrade over standard fixed
surface mount led lights when directional accent lighting is the goal. The brushed nickel finish gives it a refined look that blends into most modern ceiling designs without drawing attention to the hardware itself.
Light quality that feels natural
With a
90 CRI rating, colours under this fixture look true to life — an important detail in kitchens, bathrooms, and any space where accurate colour matters. The built-in
DTW (Dim-to-Warm) feature is the real standout: as you lower the dimmer, the colour temperature shifts progressively warmer, replicating the familiar amber glow of an old incandescent bulb instead of the flat, cold look typical of standard LEDs. Paired with a compatible dimmer, this creates a smooth, flicker-free ambiance ideal for evening settings.
Installation and electrical details
Rated
12W, this fixture is
IC-rated, meaning it can be installed in direct contact with insulation — a must for many retrofit and new-construction ceilings in Canadian homes. It also carries a
Damp Location rating, extending its use to covered outdoor areas, bathrooms, and other spaces exposed to humidity. Compliance with
T24 standards makes it a solid choice for projects that require energy code documentation, and the fixture is fully
dimmable for compatibility with most residential dimming systems.
Where it fits in your project
This gimbal downlight is at home in living rooms, hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, and covered porches, anywhere a small aperture and adjustable beam are needed. If you're outfitting a project that mixes finishes, the family also includes matching
black and
white versions, plus the
3.5" Luna square recessed fixture for flush, non-adjustable applications in the same series. No spec sheet or IES file is currently listed for this SKU, but the specifications above reflect exactly what this model offers, so you can plan your layout with confidence.
