Looking for a 3.5" gimbal recessed light that lets you aim the beam exactly where you need it? The LUNA GIMBAL RA35S-12G-DTW-90BK is a compact, adjustable surface mount led downlight-style fixture that pivots to highlight artwork, accent a wall, or wash a slanted ceiling with clean, even light. Also known as an eyeball recessed light or adjustable pot light, it's a favourite for feature lighting in living rooms, hallways, retail displays and offices where a fixed downlight just won't cut it.

This fixture is built around a 12W LED engine with 90 CRI for true, vivid colour rendering, and features DTW (Dim To Warm) technology so the light gently shifts to a cozy warm glow as you dim it down, just like an incandescent bulb. It's rated IC (Insulation Contact) for safe direct contact with attic insulation, and carries a Damp Location rating, giving you flexibility for installs in covered soffits, bathrooms and other areas exposed to moisture. The fixture is fully dimmable and meets Title 24 (T24) requirements, an easy check-box for energy-code compliant projects. Finished in sleek black, it disappears into modern ceilings while the gimbal trim lets you fine-tune the beam angle after install.

The LUNA GIMBAL shines anywhere a directional accent light is needed: kitchens over islands, living rooms for wall-wash effects, retail stores highlighting merchandise, and offices needing task-focused illumination. It's a natural fit across Canadian homes and commercial spaces alike, from new builds to renovations. Pair it with the matching brushed nickel version or the white finish to match different rooms in the same project, or explore the fixed LUNA square recessed fixture for a coordinated look. Add SKU RA35S-12G-DTW-90BK to your next lighting plan and get the precise, warm-dimming accent light your space deserves.

The LUNA GIMBAL (SKU RA35S-12G-DTW-90BK) is designed for installers and homeowners who want the clean look of a recessed downlight with the flexibility of an adjustable head. Its 3.5" aperture keeps the ceiling profile discreet while the gimbal ring rotates and tilts to redirect the beam toward a wall, artwork, or architectural feature — solving the classic problem of a fixed downlight lighting the wrong spot.

Light quality and dimming
Rated at 90 CRI, this fixture renders skin tones, fabrics, and finishes with impressive accuracy, making it a strong choice anywhere colour truth matters, from retail display lighting to kitchens and bathrooms. The DTW (Dim To Warm) feature means that as you lower the dimmer, the colour temperature shifts warmer automatically, replicating the cozy, familiar dimming curve of an incandescent lamp — a detail that elevates the feel of any room using a compatible dimmer.

Construction and installation
The fixture carries an IC (Insulation Contact) rating, so it can be installed in direct contact with attic insulation without special clearance boxes, simplifying installation in insulated ceilings. It is also rated for Damp Locations, extending its use to covered outdoor soffits, bathrooms, and other areas subject to occasional moisture. The T24 designation confirms compliance with Title 24 energy efficiency requirements, useful for projects that must meet strict energy codes. The unit is finished in black, a popular choice for modern ceilings and for minimizing the visual footprint of the fixture.

Applications and compatible products
Use the LUNA GIMBAL to accent a fireplace wall, wash a gallery of framed photos, or add directional light above a kitchen island. For projects needing multiple finishes across a space, it's available in the same 12W/90CRI/DTW configuration in brushed nickel (RA35S-12G-DTW-90BN) and white (RA35S-12G-DTW-90WH). If a fixed (non-gimbal) trim is preferred for general ambient lighting in the same room, the LUNA square recessed fixture in black (RA35S-12F-27K-90BK) shares the same family styling. For a standard downlight version with selectable 27K-50K colour temperatures instead of DTW, see the wet-rated LUNA gimbal (RA35S-12G-90BK).
